Jellyfishes do not have a brain, a heart, gills, respiratory system, skeletal system or excretory system. But still they manage to get around obstacles and process information through their "sights". They react to food and danger through nerve impulses without the brain to process it, nifty right? There's even a jellyfish that just lies upside on the coastline and collects the sun's light. Sunbathing jelly fish = win. 95% water, though I'm not really surprised at that XD.
They've even been here longer than dinosaurs, about 650 million years old enough for you XD? They also kill more humans than any other marine creature in a year. Fear them jellies.
Jellyfishes are both sexual and asexual. Meaning they can either reproduce with another jellyloverfish or with themselves. Convinient for those who are forever alone jellyfish wanting kids XD They also contain a large amount of proteins and are thought as a large role in ending hunger in poor areas around the world. They never stop growing too... ever.
Another cool thing is that they shoot out jets of water to move. Most are limited to only up and down, so they usually just let the tide carry them away. Go with the flow, you know? Probably why they end up on the beach some days.
Finally, they breathe through their skin. Which, considering their lack of gills and respiratory system is actually good stuff.

So, that was my little fact finding mission for today. I got bored and starting flipping through the books Kou keeps around. Thought I may as well do a little reading on jellyfish and their backboneless existance. I didn't know this much really, actually, to be honest I knew nearly nothing at all about jellyfish except that I stepped on the a lot as a kid. That hurt a tonne XD. Though can't say it wasn't karma, I was that kid who would proudly tote them on the end of a stick and shove them in everyones face.
jellyfishies,
just fyi xd
