[ Have Watanuki. Have Watanuki fussing over--is that a scarf?

Why yes, it's a scarf! A matching set, worn by his Gabite and Dragonite, to be specific. Shun and Suzu seem rather happy, and are comparing notes on the softness and quality of their respective garments. Watanuki turns and looks at the 'gear, smiling. ]It hasn't gotten very cold yet, ( Read more... )

Winter is approaching, isn't it? I hadn't even thought about it...

The region gets so hot in the summer, though, does it really get that cold come wintertime? I suppose one must think about everything, but... [WHY IS THIS PLACE SO EXTREME?]

[ BECAUSE ARPEE DRAMU POKEYMANS ]

I arrived here last winter, and had to walk to Cherrygrove with nothing but my school uniform and my sleeping bag over my shoulders. It was easily -20°C.

[ The most unpleasant three days of his life... ]

[That was definitely a double take.]

... I think I will stay in Goldenrod. [Dude, you can't be serious. How do you even travel like that?]

Are you planning on traveling?

[ He didn't have much of a choice--couldn't go back to Mom's place, after all, and he wasn't going to barge in on some poor NPC's home. ]

A good decision. And I've been considering visiting Ecruteak before the temperature falls and the snow sets in.

[Yes he could. People do it all the time. Or break into the lab like ???]

It's a very beautiful city. Aragaki-san and I spent a few days there before coming to Goldenrod. It seems to be a very traditional town.

[ Yes but Watanuki isn't most people. What is asking strangers for favors, gosh. ]

I've heard. It would almost be like visiting Kyoto, in a way.

If you like that kind of thing, you'll enjoy yourself. There are many things to see, there.

[That's why I included break in]

I think we have a lot to learn from it, and without it, we would not be able to make proper decisions, or prevent obvious mistakes. I believe that the only way to improve our future is to learn from our past.

Do you?

What a thoughtful answer. [ A bit of a sheepish smile. ] I can't say I've ever thought so deeply about it, myself, but...I do like traditional aesthetics.

Forgive me, I didn't intend to answer so philosophically.

The area is beautiful... to be honest, though, it makes me a little homesick.

No, no, you're very welcome to answer any way you like!

Homesick for Tokyo? I'll probably have to adjust to it, myself, then.

A little. It isn't much like Tokyo, but it reminds me of vacations I used to take with my family, and festivals my friends and I attended.

I can't even remember the last time I went to a festival...

[ And for once it's not in a creepy 'I don't remember anything I eat, ever, or the names of my parents or which year I am in school' thing. It's just been a long-ass time. ]

Maybe I'll go when the rain stops.

Sometimes, something like that can be good for you. Just to relax for a little while. And I've noticed this world can be a strain on the mind, at times.

A strain on the mind? Hm. [ A thoughtful pause. ] I've found it...relaxing, in a way.
