SERIES: Homestuck
CANON-POINT: Sometime after talking to John about her feeeeeeeelings, but before X3 Showdown
HISTORY:
Vriska's HS wiki page PERSONALITY: For the most part, Vriska is self-important, always thinking of herself before others, and how things will affect her. She's canonly described as a "huge bitch," and that is usually true. She looks out for number one and will not hesitate to resort to trickery to get what she wants. In her world, she is part of the upper class, and that makes her a bit of a snob; she feels entitled to certain things and doesn't hesitate in taking them.
Vriska, however, is not as clever as she thinks. More often than not, she'll have to resort to using her powers to control a person, to get them to do what she wants. She's actually quite envious of her partner, who seems to be able to manipulate people without having to resort to supertroll abilities.
It's been noted that her consistent bad luck might actually be her own fault. She leaves her room a mess which often ends in her stepping on things, and she tends to drive any and all of her friends away through manipulation and mockery. Yet in all these instances, she sees herself as the victim. It's always that no one understands her. To most others she'll laugh it off. She doesn't like to be seen as weak so she blames others and makes excuses.
She's reckless and impulsive, diving into things before thinking them through. In troll culture, romantic relationships can be those of love, or those of hate, and Vriska often finds herself in the throes of the latter. She acts, and then when they don't respond the way she wanted, she gets angry. It's the reason one troll eventually ended up dead by her hands.
In the end though, Vriska's a lot of talk. Certainly she acts on her actions, but she doesn't always feel them. There's a moment of weakness in which she reveals to John that she feels bad for all the things she's done, even if she shouldn't. Even if in her culture it's normal to do the things she did, she still feels bad. She has a conscience, and sometimes it gets to her, but for the most part she'll push it down and ignore it in favor of her own interests.
POWERS/ABILITIES: Vriska has the ability to control minds. It works better on the weak-willed or easily impressionable, and so far, doesn't work too well on humans. The most she can do to them is put them to sleep or wake them up. She also has an ability known as Vision Eightfold. While it's not clear what it does, it can be assumed to be some sort of x-ray vision, as she attempted to use it to see through the magic cue ball.
She's also reached God Tier, and though all her powers at this level aren't quite clear as of yet, it has reversed her luck. Instead of having infinite bad luck she has constant good luck. All the luck. All of it. She also has a pair of butterfly wings in this form, as well as having regained her lost eyes and arm. It has also been noted that those at the God Tier level are immortal unless killed by "heroic" or "just" means (i.e. slain by a hero, or deserving to die). More recently it has also been hinted that at this level she can sense others at the very least at the same level. (found

FIRST-PERSON: [Vriska's staring at the ring master with a skeptical look.]
So let me get this straight. A circus is a place for human rejects to proudly show off why they're rejects?
[She laughs.] Holy hell, that sounds fantastic.
[Abruptly stops laughing and tosses her hair.] I am soooooooo not a reject though. I think I'd make a better audience member. Laughing at the stupid saps on stage. Sounds like my kind of gig. But I'm not the one people are laughing at. I laugh at people. Got that?
THIRD-PERSON: Despite how much she tried to argue with the ring master, and how much she protested and protested participating, Vriska ended up out on stage anyway, much to her dismay. However if she was going to be forced to take part in this little... circus, yes, then she was going to make the most out of it. That meant tormenting other people.
She'd already learned that she couldn't use her mind powers on humans, unfortunate as that was in this situation, but she could make them fall asleep at the very least. And well, watching someone fall asleep while they were walking across the high wire was pretty damn funny she had to admit, though she found the net below a bit disappointing (No more Tavros repeats).
However all that laughter was about to change when she was told she was the next tightrope walker. The last one seemed to mysteriously fall asleep and twisted her ankle upon landing in the net, so she was no longer able. Vriska had the feeling they knew it was her, and that this was some sort of punishment but they gave no such indicator. Once more she tried to argue, and once more they had none of it
This was show she found herself on the edge of the platform staring down at the thin rope that connected the other platform. Wow... It was... much higher than she'd expected. She had to do this though, after all the laughing she had done at everyone else, if she chickened out now, she would never hear the end of it.
Okay Vriska, you can do this, you have all the luck.
