[032] Swing life away

May 13, 2007 01:34

I need a new hobby.

I can't entertain myself with my job all my life. It'll start to get boring, and I still want to like it. Live it.

So. New hobby.

Outside of this Library.

[[I'm still begging for a Crowley. How much more begging do you people want? HOW MUCH, YOU GREEDY WENCHES? KayILUbaibai!]]

Out of curiosity, what exactly is your... ah... 'job.'

I paint.

Silly, isn't it?

Hardly. An appreciation for art is imperative to any life.

Haah. You should tell that to my parents.

I could try. But if they don't know the importance of art already then I probably wouldn't bother trying to converse with idiots.

Th-that was rethorical, you know...? But...t-thanks. I think.

What sort of art do you like?

I won't bother describing. My taste in itself could be described as "capricious."

Though what I think is irrevelant. Besides, if art is what you truly love now, you shouldn't bother trying to find 'new hobbies' for when you think your mind will change later.

Hmm. You mean, more like Piccasso, or more like Monet?

I don't mind hearing a second opinion. And it's not that I think I'll change my mind later--actually, I have half the mind to live on this for as long as I can, but some people get fed up with their jobs. I love painting, but I am afraid my life is too...monotone...

Perhaps a better question to ask yourself is if you are the one who's afraid of monotony or if you're worried if other people will think it monotonous.

Or maybe I simply misunderstand.

I'm afraid of monotony, and I'm afraid of realizing I haven't done much of anything in this short life...not even lived it...

*frank voice* If you spend life doing what you want, then you've done enough. If you want to do something else then do it. If you want to paint, then paint. Doing what you love is never monotonous.
