Cole woke up and tried to blink the grogginess away. He was in his bed but didn't remember going to sleep. The last thing he remembered was coming home Friday night after making sure Piper was safely recuperating at the clinic. He'd been utterly exhausted after his assault on Zankou, and he'd been trying to hide that from Phoebe and Sam. Piper

Phoebe came into the room with a tray of sandwiches and drinks and her smile was one of relief.

"You're awake."

"That's what I said," Sam answered, grinning at her -- then promptly grimacing with embarrassment when his own stomach growled loudly.

"It's Saturday morning, right?" Cole said, holding out a hand to Phoebe. "Sam's pulling my leg."

Phoebe took his hand and shook her head.

"No, sweetheart, he's not. It's Sunday."

Sam ran his fingers over Cole's side where he'd gotten him with the taser the other day, then squirmed about on the bed until he could bend down easily and kiss the spot. "There. And see? Told you."

"Why didn't you wake me up?" Cole said. "I can't believe I lost a whole day." Out came the pout.

Phoebe sat next to Cole and ran a hand through his hair. "Because you obviously needed the rest. Had it been me you would have made sure I slept as long as my body said I needed it."

"Got that right," agreed Sam, who was eyeing the sandwiches hopefully. "Besides, you looked so cute while you were sleeping, and look at you now with that pout . . ."

Cole smacked Sam. He too, was eyeing the sandwiches. "I'm starving," he said, looking at Phoebe hopefully.

"Have at them. I made them for you guys."

"Ow!" protested Sam, poking Cole in the ribs before he gave Phoebe a tousleheaded smile. "You made us sandwiches even after we ran off to the Underworld?"

Cole rolled his eyes and poked back at Sam. "Didn't have to remind her of that," he said.

"You saved my sister," Phoebe said quietly. "You also kept Paige... and us from being killed by the demon." Her hand was resting protectively over her stomach. "And... you guys kept your promises and came back to me."

Sam, mindful not to upset the sandwiches, tugged Phoebe down onto the bed between the two of them. "'course we did."

Cole took the tray from Phoebe's hands and set it aside, then turned his attention to snuggling against her. "Told you I'm not going to leave you ever again," he murmured.

Phoebe cuddled with them both, holding on. "I know you did," she said softly. "It doesn't mean that I don't get scared... especially now."
