BOSTON (Ticker) - If the Boston Bruins are to make a miraculous run to reach the playoffs, they will have to do it without a key defenseman.
The Bruins on Friday announced Nick Boynton will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum and be lost for the remainder of the regular season.
"He's been battling it for some time now," Bruins coach Mike Sullivan told the Boston Globe. "He's been working with the medical staff on it for some time now."
