When your hero gets traded to a team on the other side of the USA, there is no goodbye that seems good enough. So, here is
one of my three or four tributes to Joe Thornton.
And, as done by Ice, I'm doing my tribute in photographs.
Joe right after being drafted...the beginning of an era.
Here's Joe...probably within his first couple seasons, because of the #6 rather than #19.
Joe after getting his first NHL assist. Look at how happy!
Joe before he was the Captain. See? No 'C.'
Even with a atrsy-guy goatee, he still looks like a gritty, tough hockey player.
Somehow, Joe managed to make it look good to have a squirrel taking over your face. What a revolutionary.
I mean, seriously, how many guys can be SUCH a leader--so strong and smart and mature and all that good stuff, and still manage to look SOEFFINGCUTE when they smile? I'm gonna miss that.
Even when his hair looks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo, he's still...he's still so freaking great.
One of his pics from one of his All Star Games...
My favorite Joe picture ever. I could not make a tribute without including it.
Joe and Friends
Joe and Sammy...the one he often called his best friend...
...up until this man came along...
Let the GlenandJoe fest begin...
It's an All Star romance...
The look of love is in your eye...
Glen was always a step behind/a seat beside Joe.
Jiri wanted in on the GlenandJoe love, but it's just too exclusive to have a love like that...
Celebrating together...
They're just so in synch. They're in synch like *NSYNC.
And now...the final two pictures...
The way it should be...
...and the way it is. *sigh...sob*
