Ficness. Chapter Five.

May 15, 2007 16:32

Fandom: Supernatural / Resident Evil, with some traps that I ganked from Saw.
Title: Cat and Mouse
Rating: Well, there's graphic violence and possible future smut, so I'll go with a safe NC17.
Author: Lizi
Pairing: Dean/OFC, Sam/OFC (mostly Dean/OFC centric this time around)
Warnings/Spoilers: If you're up to date on the show, you should be spoiler free (plus, the fact that I'm a recently hooked Supernatural fan, so Wikipedia has been my friend when it came to this fic). As for warnings, there's gratuitous violence and Resident Evil style gore. And cursing. And smut. I'm a bad girl. =P
Author's Note: The follow up to my original story, Project Mayhem. All character are still around, plus I'll add a couple in later.
Words: 3,835
Summary: The confession you've all been waiting for, and what follows.

Sam and Anna had a bit of relief, at least for awhile. But for Dean and Raina, the crap was just beginning. The room they were in was just the first of a series of Umbrella placed traps, waiting for one wrong step to set them off. The last time we left them, they were still laying in the middle of the floor in the basement, where Dean had come seconds from losing his life…

Dean got up from the floor, then looked at his hand. "Umbrella always has some kind of a medical facility, right? They should, at least. Working with chemicals and shit. I need to wrap this up..." he masked the pain, trying to think logically, not show how hurt he actually was. Truthfully, though, his hands still stung, and tingled at the same time as the acid ate away at a little more of his muscle. He swallowed hard. "I need some water...I need to rinse this..." he used his other hand to wipe some tears from his eyes. Why in the hell was he crying? He knew how to handle pain. He'd dealt with more than this before...so why was this so harrowing? He figured it had something to do with the acid ripping his flesh to shreds. He watched as Raina stood up, and looked into her bleary eyes. He still regretted nothing. He was more than glad that he came for her. It was a relief to know that she was alive.

Raina nodded and breathed in deeply, running a bloody hand through her hair. "Maybe find a shower..." she looked from him to herself and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't mind giving Umbrella a free show, so long as I can get this disgusting blood off me..." she paused before they left the room, and made her way over to Jessi's corpse. "Thank you. And I'm sorry this had to happen..." she whispered to the limp body before her. It was really depressing. Jessi had been through as much as Raina had, here, and dying by the hands of the people who had turned her into who she was, well...it was unfortunate. But Raina wasn't an idiot, either. She felt horrible for doing it, but she felt in Jessi's pockets for any paper or keys, or anything that would give them an inkling of what they had to do. She raised an eyebrow when she came across a key, with the words 'HELIPAD' engraved into it. "Helipad, huh? Wonder where that is..." she searched farther, looking into Jessi's pocket and grabbing hold of a document. She scanned it quickly and her eyes widened. "Oh...my God...Dean...look at this..."

Dean nodded when Raina spoke of the helipad. "I saw a chopper taking off across town...maybe the key is to that..." he shrugged and raised a brow when Raina called his attention, reading what she held out to him...Dr. Jessica McArthur, formerly a researcher and COO of Umbrella Corporation research and development team, turned her back on Albert and Cathryn's initial plans and was thus turned into a... Dean didn't want to read anymore. "So...she was an Umbrella operative? And she turned on them. Maybe that's why she responded to their brainwashing and you didn't..." he shrugged and then pointed his thumb out of the room. "Shall we get out of here?" he asked, looking at Raina and noticing a slightly sad look on her face. Like something had happened and she felt...guilty? What did she have to feel guilty about? She'd been nothing but amazing this entire time. "We need to find a place to clean this out, at least..."

Raina read further on Jessi's involvement with Umbrella, and her eyes widened when she saw her name, and the situation with she and Umbrella in there. She swallowed hard. She had to tell Dean, sooner or later. If he found out without her telling him? It would be...awful. She pondered the best way to tell him as they searched silently through the first, then second floor for a medical room. They got back to the third floor, where they'd started from, and Raina opened the first door she saw. Sure enough, behind the door were various cleaning agents and gauze, and lockers...and a sink. So they could clean their faces and hair. And maybe, she could clean her conscience. She couldn't blame Dean if he wanted to leave her. At all. It was what she deserved. She walked up to the sink and turned the water on in each one. "You use that one...I'll use this one..."

Dean looked at the water like it was merciful and put his hand beneath it, diluting the acid and trying to take the pain and tingling from his hand. He bit his lip at the pain, but tried as hard as he could to calm himself down, then looked at Raina. She had her head underneath the faucet and was rinsing out her hair, and when Dean was finished rinsing his hand of the acid, he followed her lead, rinsing the blood off of his face, hands and forearms. He looked from the sink to Raina, who had made her way to the table and was preparing to take care of his hand. He turned and made his way back to, breaking this long and awkward silence. "So, am I going to be charged super high medical bills for this?" he asked as he lay his hand on the table and looked at her, a slight grin on his face.

Raina scrunched her hair a little and shook it off, before flinging it back behind her head and making her way to the table. She was still trying to figure out how to tell Dean exactly what she'd done, and not lose him. But there was no way around it. She heard him ask some cheesy joke about medical bills, and she half-smiled, shook her head and looked at his hand, starting to wrap it up. In the middle of wrapping, however, she felt a tear falling down her cheek. She felt his hand reaching up and wiping it away, and she allowed it, until she was finished wrapping his hand, clasping the gauze closed and then sighing deeply. "No. No, I can't do this. I need to tell you something, Dean. I..." she swallowed hard. "When we met? I was working for Umbrella. They...were going to pay me to lead you, Sam and Anna to their trap so they could...make you guys like me. So the three of you...so you could be their lab rats..." she closed her hands tightly and swallowed hard, angry tears flowing steadily down her cheeks.

At first, he thought she was kidding. Dean listened to her tearful confession and thought it was a joke, until he looked into her eyes and saw her...expression. Genuine, true guilt. There was no faking that. And in that second, it sunk in. The woman he'd trusted his life to...come all the way across the country for--had betrayed him. "Wh...what?" he asked as he saw her tears. "You...were going...you worked for...YOU WERE GOING TO FUCKING SEND MY BROTHER, MYSELF AND YOUR BEST FUCKING FRIEND TO OUR DEATH? You were going to TURN US IN to UMBRELLA?!" he shouted, not caring that she was crying at the moment. "I...I TRUSTED YOU!" he took a step back as she approached him. "And you..." he felt the hot, furious tears creeping into his eyes. "You were fucking LYING to me, ALL THIS TIME?!" he took another step away from her. He knew that if she touched him, he'd be putty in her hands again.

Raina couldn't help but feel like the scum of the Earth when Dean started speaking. "I..." she really had no excuse. "LISTEN!" she stopped him in the middle of his scream fest. "I WENT INTO THIS FUCKING HELL WITH NOTHING TO LIVE FOR, OKAY?" she screamed just as loud, to shock him into listening to her. "What did you THINK I was going to do when Umbrella offered me fucking TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND dollars to lead people I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW AT THE TIME into some trap? I mean...what would YOU have done?" she asked, watching as he turned away, then grabbing his arm and turning him around. "I'm sorry, okay? If I knew you then? I could never have done that...ever...I told you...what I said when we were in the hallway? Before I went to activate the self-destruct? I meant it...I really..." she turned away from him and started to walk toward the middle of the room. "I'm sorry...you can...you can go..."

Dean looked at Raina with a sad expression on his face. She...was sorry. That was also something you couldn't fake. He wanted to touch her, but...he'd fall back under her spell and he...wait, why was he walking back to her? He tried to tell himself that it wasn't right, but she was crying and telling him to turn away. And he couldn't. He really, really couldn't. He stood in front of her. "I made you a promise, Raina. And I am a man of my word..." he whispered. "I promised that we'd end Umbrella for putting us through this, and...I'm not going to flake on you..." he watched her stand. She shook her head and started to walk away. She was trying to say something, but he wouldn't let her. He pulled her back to him and looked her in the eye. "No. This..." he swallowed the lump in his throat. This wasn't something he said. Ever. "I'm trying to say...I accept your apology, Raina...I..." he looked into her eyes. "...I can understand how the offer would be...enticing..." he nodded his head. "I...I'd probably have done the same thing..."

Raina could kiss him. She could, really. She...was? Before she could say anything, like a 'thank you for believing me' or something, anything like that, her lips were on his, thanking him without speaking. At first it was a shock to her--and seemingly him, too, but after a few seconds, they just sunk into it, and all the feelings, emotions...everything they'd been feeling over the past couple months for each other, all spun around and tied into a knot with that kiss. Without warning, even to herself, her hands were on the back of his head, pulling him closer and deepening the kiss, and she felt his snaking around her waist, resting on the small of her back. She relaxed into his kiss, his touch, and pulled away for a second, looking into his eyes. Was she...really going to? The way he looked at her right then...yes. Yes she was. She had to. She needed to. She wanted to. She wanted him. She slid her hands down his neck, shoulders and sides, until they hit his waist, and she snaked them beneath his shirt...

Though Dean was taken aback, that didn't mean he enjoyed it any less. He felt her hands on his back and swallowed hard. Was this really about to happen? He ran a hand up and down her back and breathed through his nose, trying to calm himself down so that this wasn't over before it really started. He hadn't been with anyone since...wow, it had been too long. He'd lost count. But even in the times he'd been with other women, the feel of their skin had never sent little electric pulses through his hands. This was new. He grabbed her hips and ground them into his own, the sensation of her body against his making him feel a bit dizzy. He needed her. Now. He felt her hands tug upward on her shirt, and he grinned into the kiss, raising his arms and allowing her to pull it off, mimicking the motion on her body.

Raina pushed Dean to the wall and pinned him there, pressing her lips to his and looking him square in the eye. "Do you know how hard it has been for me not to just...leap on you, sooner?" she asked as she ran her hands up and down his now-bare skin. God, that man should just not be allowed to wear clothes. "The first time I saw you...I was..." she didn't know what she was, really. But she definitely was something. "God, this is...I'm not even sure I can form a coherent sentence as to what this is. You're so gorgeous, Dean..." she grinned. Raina could come up with something to say in any situation, but right then, she was speechless. It seemed that he just...did that to her. She ran her hand along his toned chest, and up around his neck, pulling him to her and kissing him. She'd blame her eagerness on the two months with no human contact. Yeah...that was it.

Dean spun he and Raina around so that her back was against the wall and he was pinning her there, his tongue brushing hungrily against her lips, pleading for entrance again. Sure, he liked hearing her talk. It was lovely. Really. But they were both shirtless (granted she was in a bra, still...but that didn't mean that Dean was any less happy), and horny, and ready to have sex. So, the talking could wait until the post-coital haze set in and they were a little less...starving for one another. He pulled her to him, pressed her hips against his and ground against her a little, running his hands up her sides, and grinning at the goose bumps that appeared in the wake of his fingers. His hands reached down then, to the zipper of her fatigue pants and he unbuttoned, then unzipped them, removing them in a swift motion. Now, it was Raina in her undergarments and Dean still in jeans and boxers. But, shit...it was fucking hot, looking at her like that. He felt his whole body heating up and he pulled her to him in a passionate kiss, to try and release some of the energy into her...

Raina reached down and pulled on Dean's belt, yanking it off in a swift motion and pulling his jeans to the floor. She put her hand on his boxers, and felt his hands moving around to her back to unclasp her black bra. Upon feeling him grind against her, then watching her bra fall to the floor among the rest of their clothes, she couldn't wait any longer. She needed to have him. She stuck her thumbs beneath the elastic in his boxers and pulled them over his hips, watching them tumble the rest of the way to the floor. God, he was gorgeous. Chiseled and toned...and dipped in all the right places, and...she grinned. He really wanted this. At least his cock was saying so. She pressed her chest to his and stole another kiss, watching as his erection seemed to grow. "Well, someone's a little...eager."

Dean scoffed and stuck his tongue out. "I would prefer if you didn't use the word 'little' in reference to my cock, if you don't mind..." he grinned as he leaned down to kiss her. "Even joking, that's just not cool..." he winked and while his lips were locked onto hers, he put his thumbs beneath the elastic on her panties and pulled them down, the final barrier between them now gone. He felt her leg raise to wrap around his waist, and he grabbed her other one, lifting her up and pinning her to the wall with his body. And with that, it started. He pushed into her and breathed in deeply. "Oh...god..." he gasped out. Really, it had been too long. But...Raina was here, and he'd really never wanted someone as much as this. He propelled himself forward, reveling in the sounds that came from her mouth--something between a gasp and a moan--but he felt her join him in the grinding and arching.

Raina threw her head back when Dean first entered her, moaning loudly and clamping onto her lower lip to try and suppress it once she started. She heard him moan, though, and it was over. She couldn't help it. She moaned, too, and pressed her lips to his, since they were eye-level with one another now. She arched her back, pushing her breasts into his chest, then gasped a little. "Oh...D-Dean..." she cried out. She was a talker. So what? "That is...just...like that..." she whispered, digging her nails lightly into his back. Just enough so he would notice. She knew he could take it, anyway. Someone in their profession could deal with a lot of pain. And when she heard him gasp and moan a little louder, she grinned, then groaned a bit. The next thing she felt was a soft, but noticeable bite against her neck. "Mmh..." was all she could bring from her head to her mouth. "Fucking amazing..." she finished her sentence.

Raina's fingernails in his back...were driving him off the wall. He cried out in sheer pleasure and clutched her to him, nearly losing his footing as she rocketed off the wall, but he spun them around and leaned back against the wall so Raina could take over, since that seemed to be what she wanted to do. He moaned as she moved up and down against his body, feeling his breath get a little shorter. "I...oh...OH GOD!" he felt his muscles get a little tighter...and before he knew it, he saw starbursts, and he slid down the wall, hitting the floor with what almost felt like a 'thud.' "R-Raina...you..." he couldn't say anything. Usually, he had something to say, but shit, this was the most fucking intense orgasm he'd ever felt. He simply threw his head back and rode the motions as they came over him in a wave, and Raina seemed to enjoy every second of it.

Dean crying out was driving her insane, too. It seemed as though everything the one did, drove the other crazy. Raina was ALMOST there when Dean came, but his cries of ecstasy...they pushed her closer...and closer...and..."Oh...FUCK!" she clutched onto him and pulled him tightly to her, burying her face in his neck and riding out the orgasm, holding onto him just as tight as ever. "I...that was..." she tried to think of the proper word to describe exactly what that had been. "Amazing. That was amazing..." she finished her sentence, her limp body collapsing into Dean's arms. "I don't think I've ever felt anything like that in my life. Ever..." she ran her thumb along his cheek, then stared into his eyes.

Dean laughed lightly and ran his fingers through her hair. "That's me. Dean Winchester. Guaranteed to satisfy..." he backed up and looked into her eyes. She really was...something. Beautiful. Strong (well, stronger now, too, thanks to Umbrella). Fun. Great in bed. The type of woman that Dean could see himself with. She'd fucked up. So what? Dean couldn't say that he'd never fucked up in his life. The thing that counted was...she didn't send them to their death. She went so far as to try to repay her debt with her life. She'd repaid it with her life as she knew it, however. Because Raina wasn't JUST Raina anymore. Now, she was Project Raina, in Umbrella's eyes. She had some fucked up virus running through her and...he sighed. She'd sacrificed normal to keep him alive. And she'd brought him to Sam in that adventure, too. He thought about it for a moment, then half-smiled. Her deal with Umbrella may have actually been beneficial. "Raina?" he watched as her attention turned to him. "Thank you. I wouldn't have made it out of that hellhole in Texas if not for you. And I'd be dead now if not for you and Jessi. Really. Thank you..." he whispered softly. "I owe you. A lot..."

Raina couldn't do anything but smile right then. So, Dean forgave her. And he...actually felt he owed her? "No, no. We're even, Dean. If anything, I owe you. You came to save my life, no matter how little I deserve it. That's...amazing of you. I mean...maybe you didn't know...but..." she looked away from him, but smiled when he brought her face back toward his. "I owe you, okay? Dean, you are amazing. You have a great heart and, believe it or not, I feel like your soul is a lot kinder than you give yourself credit for. You're a good man, Dean Winchester. The type of man that I could see myself fa--" she paused and cleared her throat. "You're just...a good man. And I mean it..." she smoothed his hair from his eyes. She just hoped that he still meant what he said, and wanted to stick with her...still forgave her.

Dean leaned in and pressed a kiss to Raina's lips. "You're pretty amazing, too, Raina..." he spoke softly, running a hand through her hair. Secretly, he wondered what they had become. Did she just consider him a fuck buddy now? Not that he cared. He'd been a fuck buddy many times. Friends with benefits wasn't a bad thing. But...considering he'd come all this way to save her, and was still staying, still meant everything he'd said about wanting to be around, wanting to stick with her until they both made it through this...so they could continue on together...he sighed. He didn't think he could deal with it, losing her again. "We owe each other. We have to make it through this and stick together afterward. We have to keep protecting one another for...a long time..." his brain was saying 'the rest of our lives' but, he didn't think Raina would appreciate that too much. At least not right then.

Raina couldn't help but smile. Dean's heart was so kind. She brushed a hand through his hair and leaned forward into him. "Before we trudge on...I think we should just relax here. At least until our...or, my knees feel less like Jell-O and more like human muscle and bone, all right?" she watched Dean nod and leaned her head against his shoulder, smiling as he leaned back against the wall. It was...almost domestic. She really quite enjoyed it. She only hoped the feeling would last.
