California Part Deux

I don't care what the date says! It's still tomorrow..er..yesterday...WHATEVER

All righty then, I suppose I should get back into the story- if you missed the first installment look below and you shall find it.

So we went to farmers market. It was such good food. Like I said, I think , we walked around and then got food from Jer and Kang's favorite grill place on the street. It was amazing food. The best steak I've had in a long time and really sweet corn. I think it was fresh- which makes it tons more awesome. I people watched and chatted, and then we walked back to the car. We drove to blockbuster to rent some movies. Ended up getting "Be Cool" with John Travolta, and "Dead Poets Society" with Robin Williams. We watched Be Cool when we got back to the apartment and then everyone got around and went to sleep. I think we were all pretty exhausted- I was tired from the plane and both of them had worked all day.

Friday morning I woke up pretty early, at least early there. It was around 8:30. I put my contacts in, brushed my teeth, and then settled down to read. I wanted to let Jeremiah sleep until he woke up since he worked all week and probably didn't get a lot of sleep. S'all right anyway, I had a book. I also had to call Kate in the office because of a problem with my car, but I'll get to that later.

So Jer got up and around after awhile. We ate breakfast, watched tv, got around for the day. Decided that we would try to catch the Island since we both agreed to wait and see it til I was on the West Coast. Drove to the movie theatre, bought the tickets for the next movie and then had to kill an hour. Both of us being huge book nerds (;)) where do you think we killed the time? Barnes and Nobles. He read the preface for the new WoT Book, Knife of Dreams while I walked around checking out new books. We met back up to walk to the theatre and commence watching the movie.

I thought it was good, and so did Jer even though he had been told that it wasn't so good. After that we drove to a drugstore because I had to buy a postcard for Katharine and deodorant. Of all the things to forget. *laughs* I don't think that I told him about that. Anyway, mission accomplished, now what? Jeremiah suggested we should go to Pismo Beach for dinner at the Splash Cafe. So we drove to Staples to see when Kang was getting out of work. 7. So we had some time to kill. Driving back, he took me on a driving tour of his campus during which we decided to go bowling to kill more time. Went back to the apartment to get socks and then onward ho to the bowling alley.

It's right on their campus, lucky bastards. Just like Cornell. Arg. We played two games, he won the first and I the second. He kept trying to tell me how to aim and that that way I would get more strikes, but I'm pretty stubborn and woolheaded (;)) sometimes, so I just kept throwing it like I do. I like it that way, then I can get surprised by strikes. It makes it more exciting for me.

Then it was time for dinner. Off to Splash and Pismo Beach. It was gorgeous. The three of us got our food and then walked out on this huge pier. We sat on a bench and watched the waves, and the people who were learning to surf *g*. I told Jer that I wanted to learn how to surf and he said "yeah, so would they" *laughs*. We chatted and then it got chilly and I kept saying I was cold (cause I was...but I was probably pretty annoying) so we left. The three of us drove back to the apartment (we beat Kang :D) and then watched Dead Poets Society. Crashed pretty much afterward of course.

Saturday I woke up majorly early, don't know why, so I did the same thing. I got around quietly and read. After Jeremiah got up, we watched tv for a bit, got around and then well, watched tv for a bit more before Kang got home from work. Then we went to the mid-state fair in Paso Robles. We got lost the first time looking for the fair (I know right? how can you miss a fair?), but then we parked and rode a shuttle.

The fair reminded me a lot of fairs that we have around here, just on a larger scale. Both booths of food and games. The boys rode the zipper, I have to admit I am a little afraid of that ride. I think I would have ridden it, but I'm also all right with not having done so. We rode the gravitron, where I almost lost my cell phone!, some other floating thing which sucked (boo), and the tilt-a-whirl, which was really fun. I think it was at that point that I loosened up some and started to be more my real self, other than the quiet, I don't want to be in your way, person I become around people I know, but don't know. I tried to go in the funhouse, but they kept closing it (boo again). LOL We went in the "Kreepy Kastle" which wasn't at all and Jeremiah scared Kang- it was good :). We played some games- Jer won a fish and a picture, I won a picture (which the baggage handlers smashed, but I'll tell that later too). We ate dinner and other tasty treats. Then we hit the road.

On the way back we stopped at Wal-Mart so they could buy something to stick the fish in. They ended up deciding on a nice little aquarium with a light that makes the fish go crazy. Ing is the fish, which means silver in Chinese. It's a cute name for a cute little fish. We got back, Kang had to run somewhere, so Jeremiah and I put the tank together and filled it and all that jazz. Watched tv and then went to sleep.

Sunday morning we woke up early to go to the beach since we didn't go on Saturday as planned. I finally remembered my camera! Although apparently I like to remember one thing and not remember another. I didn't bring my purse and we stopped at a Starbucks on the way. She wanted to see picture I.D. and my partner card- I didn't have either with me...so I didn't get my discount. Oh well.

We drove to Montañas de Oro (I think that's the right name), which I will have pictures of soon. It was gorgeous, many cliffs and rocks, etc, that jut into the Pacific. It was so amazing. I wanted to sent Jer over the edge though when he was talking about sitting out on the cliffs to read for school. That's so amazing- I wish I could do that.

Didn't get to stay all that long, however, for I had a plane to catch. We drove back, got Kang, I got a picture or two, and then they took me to the airport. My flight was slightly delayed, so they stayed with me, which was very sweet. Then I went in through security, they left, and the trip home began.

I made my flights this time, probably because every single one of them was late in leaving. ARG. My flights were fine, though, other than that. The flight from Chicago to Buffalo was entertaining because the couple that sat next to me were so funny. They were just talking to themselves, not to me most of the time, but I would hear them and just laugh into my book.

BUT THEN, I got to Buffalo a half hour late and sans luggage. So I had to make Angie, Jess, and Colleen, who were nice enough to pick me up, wait first for me to get there, and then for me to wait in line to hand in a claim. I finally got it back today (er..Tuesday), and the picture that I won from the fair, inside my bag, was broken even though I told them- hey, there's something fragile in there. Bastards.

So, that's my trip in a nutshell. I'm back in New York, though I'm dreaming for that California weather. And scenery...it was all just so gorgeous. I woke up on Monday morning and the first thought in my head was, why am I not in California?

Looking back on it, I definitely should have been more myself. That just naturally happens for me though. I think I was nervous from being on a trip by myself and traveling across the country to meet someone- even if it is someone I've known for eight years. I just get reserved around people I don't know, but want to impress. Well, maybe impress isn't the right word, just I didn't want to be disappointing. And I think in worrying about that, I wasn't really my whole self- my whole personality. And that probably made things weird too. Yes, there were awkward silences, but I expected there to be some. Hey, in person is different than the phone man. I just really hope that Jeremiah and Kang had a good time, and that things don't change. It was a spectacular trip, but it wouldn't be worth it if Jeremiah and I didn't continue to talk. After all, he still is the only person who can tell everytime I'm upset and we're talking, even if it is online.

And, I think I was more ditzy in those four days than I have ever been in my entire life. What the hell was up with that? All of my intelligent years as a blonde were catching up to me?

I'll update more, maybe tomorrow, maybe the next day, soon. I'm still not quite done with my story, but this is enough for more; I am TIRED.
