so like AI didn't go so well. Didn't really understand some of what was on the final, which bodes poorly.
I should probably start studying for SCI206 soon. Apparently there is a winter storm warning for Friday, which would suck if it snowed a lot and they actually did post-pone last final. I really hope that doesn't happen.
I got the internet reconnected, my wireless card isn't quite strong enough for the alternate option, but maybe with a bit of work I can get something working next semester to save on the delicious delicious internet.
Brain/body is being sort of odd (pumped full of awake ninjas) like ?s. I know I'm not ready for like ninjaness [espicially because of my brains habbit of hiding things until I'm less stressed aka after exams], but like moving up the happy-panda scale for the win. [semi related 8bit break up music is kind of hilarious at times].
Semi-randomly thinking about future and plans and like what stuff I should change.
I still sort of want to set a time limit for my self for how long I'll be at Amazon (or at least a target date to look around again and see how stuff is and like crazy schemes). Some people that I know have gone with ~2 to 3 years, which seems like a reasonable length of time, but I really have no idea how to poke/prod future me into action.... I guess I could schedule an at job to e-mail me (although I don't know if those are persistent between reboots), but I'm kind of afraid of ignoring it and getting stuck in a rut at Amazon. perhaps an unfounded worry.
I'm fairly certain I won't be able to get into a part time masters program [at least until I have some of that "professional experience" so they look a bit less at my marks :p]. Perhaps I could do a graduate certificate in something interesting, but I'm leaning more towards doing one undergrad class a term "distance" (i.e. no lectures, fly in for midterm and final for sketch-tastic times) for the stuff I wished I was able to fit into my degree and maybe boost my marks that way. I'm a bit fuzzy on if I can actually do this, but I know biggs took some courses after graduation so maybes?
I think I still kind of want to try and learn more hindi, in part because I think I now know more hindi than french and like if I could get my way up to passable in some second language I think that would be a worth-while accomplishment. Of course this will probably have to wait for post-graduation now, since courses look like busy times.
Once I get money again [aka Amazon] I'm think I'm going to pick up another djembe DVD (because my last one got stolen) and learn more than one beat to play on it. I'm also thinking of maybe trying to learn how to play electric guitar (mostly inspired by the idea of maybe getting on wetriffs.com for like classytimes :)). I'm a bit fuzzy on how hard it would be to learn to play guitar, google didn't provide very good answers for how challenging the task is.
I'm thinking of maybe trying to learn more Yoga/become a Yoga instructor for funtimes. I really enjoyed my time doing Yoga while I was at MSFT, it helped me deal with a lot of the stress. It looks like I could probably do the training for the basic level on the weekends while I'm in seattle. Although I don't think I'd actually be allowed to practice as a Yoga instructor (bah visas), but it seems like a good way to learn more about that stuff. I'm thinking I might drop in to a few classes while I'm back in Ottawa over the holidays (also need to get a bit more flexible because maybe skiing if there is enough snow). Regardless, doing Yoga with Waterloo Yoga Club next semester for the win :)
Going to do some more work on my spam filter, maybe dig up the old scheme idea I had (apparently R6RS fixes some of the macro system . I kind of want to poke around with my other crazy document classification plans, but thats going to have to wait until I can get my hands on some delicious samples. Ottawa CODE PARTY sometime over the holidays for great justice.
Presently, next semester looks like 5 courses (4 math/cs) and one ECON [although maybe 5 math/cs if there is space in CS370 or 371] and maybe a distance ed english course (from Athabasca) if I can get it to count for an english credit here.
Anyways I've rambled on for long enough to get a fairly jumbled set of thoughts down on paper, so sleep for me nowish :)
yays!
