Winter vacation is just over a month away, so its time we got decisive and picked a great place to visit in Asia, our last trip before we return to Canada, find amazing well paying jobs, and live happily ever after.
We already have been to Thailand, Cambodia (though briefly), Malaysia, and Japan. Here is what is left to check off in an allotted time of just under 3 weeks of travel time.
China
Its got Beijing, The Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, Tibet, the Himalayas, and much much more! Only problem is, it gets winter in a lot of places just like Korea, so it will be a bit chilly. Is the cold worth the sightseeing?
Also, researching flight connections, since a quick trip through the cold and scenic parts of China could be combined with a trip to Vietnam as well.
India
Our original draft plan at the end of last year was to go to India for 2 months...but we decided to go to Canada instead. Was also thinking of this as a possibility for this year as well, but again, would love to get back to the homeland.
Would again like to see the Himalayas, perhaps around the Darjeeling area, Taj Mahal, eat delicious food, and enjoy other various things.
Vietnam/Laos
Could skip China entirely or spend very little time there, and instead concentrate on spending more time entirely in Vietnam and Laos. The weather would be at least tropical, so we could pack light. Downside, no Himalayas.
The Philly or Indonesia
For some reason, I've never had a huge desire to visit these tropical places, though they are pleasant, rich in culture, have delicious food, affordable, and also have nice things to see.
Could always go to these places as well.
Now, its time to do more in-depth research on possible plans and try to make a decision with Trish, hopefully by this week, so we can get booking!
