so i'm writing a paper about the idea of the JAP (jewish american princess), and i'd like your help! if you could answer any/all of the following questions and either post the answers in a comment or e-mail them back to me at rgitlin@wesleyan.edu, that would be fabulous. thank you!

1. How familiar are you with the term JAP? Do you remember when you first learned about it?

2. How would you define a JAP? How do you envision a stereotypical JAP?

3. How prevalent is the idea of the JAP in whichever community/communities you belong to (school, hometown, youth group, camp, etc.)?

4. Do you find the term JAP to be derogatory? Do you feel more comfortable using the word in some situations but not others?

5. Can someone be a JAP without being Jewish? Without being white? Without being a female?
