What's different about Holby City?
Holby City's Filmic Look
On 3 July, Holby City moved over to a new style of filming.
Series Producer, Diana Kyle, explains the change: "We felt Holby City was starting to feel a little dated, lagging behind other programmes by continuing to transmit in a pure tape format."
Diana goes on to explain: "Most other high quality, UK dramas,
apart from the regular soap operas, are now transmitted with a more filmic look. So we decided to update the look of our programme by improving the lighting on the shoot and then applying a 70% film mode.

We also took the opportunity to update our opening titles which had not altered since first transmission nine years ago.
We are very pleased to have received many favourable comments on both counts."
