Some basic features of York architecture:

1. Doors do not fit into frames.

2. All faucets are hobbit-sized, so that one ends up banging one's hands against the side of the sink while washing them. (Note: Actual inhabitants of York are not hobbit-sized.)

3. Level floors and pavements are for the weak.

4. Loose paving stones are a feature, not a bug.

5. Old parish churches make excellent cafés, shops, senior centers, and nightclubs.

On an unrelated note, I really need to do my shopping during the week; the city centre gets way too crowded on Saturdays. Darn tourists. XD
