(no subject)
This morning's lecture did not start off well, what with everyone's one turn-in assignment getting returned with awful marks and a lecture about how ashamed the professor would be if any of us turned in final essays that looked like that (seriously, least-sugarcoated criticism I have ever received - partially fair in my case, I was pretty sloppy), but then we did a sort of game where we had a sample of a scribe's writing and had to pick out eight other samples of the same scribe's hand from a giant pile of photocopies and I totally won the shit out of it, so that made me feel better. Plus I talked with the professor after class and got this thing about expanding abbreviations sorted out; I'm used to Latin transcription where abbreviations are expanded with parentheses, and apparently in Middle English (maybe in Old English too) they prefer to expand abbreviations by italicizing the expansons, so that was throwing me for a loop. Totally sticking with Latin transcription. x.x
Then I just hung around King's Manor having a go at my Yuletide fic and starting my essay and really just flomping around the internet a lot and whining about Zabuza and Haku. Also hating on Kabumaru with ALL THE HATRED. FUCKING GRAVE-ROBBER. >:^[
I also got dinner at a Chinese place and it was delicious, although I did make a few sadfaces at the menu offering birds'-nest soup. (Not because I seriously judge people who want to eat birds'-nest soup! Not judging! But Chelidon, being a fox and a swallow, has ~*feelings*~ on the matter of this soup and I suppose they leaked over a bit. ... YES, I KNOW HOW THAT SOUNDS.)
