Book 4: COMPLETE. With a certain amount of crying because why did you switch to abbreviating quotes, Munich MS, whyyyyyyyyyyy, but still, completed! Just in time for me to find out that the library might, in fact, not have gotten the other volumes of Gryson's edition of the full commentary on Isaiah by Jerome as I requested lo, these many months ago. So that's great. Thanks, library. (I love my university, I swear I do, but sometimes it is so inadequate in the library department.)
But let's talk about more fun things! LIKE ROBOTS AND ALIENS.
IT'S ALIENS :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD ALL THE ALIEN SHIT ACTIVATED AND THE TEMPLE SPOKE AND THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING. Please oh please let this mean Junior comes back and maybe also Sister and Doc PRETTY FUCKING PLEASE, RT. I WANT A JUNIOR AND A SISTER AND A DOC. I'M SO EXCITED AAAAAAAAAAAH.
Dr. Grey is so great, just constantly. :D And Freckles the gun is continuously a delight. CONFETTI GUN, AWW YEAH.
Well, THAT was an emotional roller coaster ending at the worst possible place to leave me in dire need of more. D: IAN IN A REPARATIVE COMA, David and Olivia throwing ultimatums at each other and yet still not separating despite the fact Olivia really should just dump David's self-absorbed ass and marry someone more awesome like Olan who actually respects her, and of course THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL, my favorite secondary character Calley deciding to be a complete dick and shooting Ian's AI parent (WHO JUST WANTS TO BE FRIENDS) without asking a single question first and almost blowing up the whole building with Ian and David STILL IN IT. I'M SO HURT, CALLEY. I LIKED YOU SO MUCH. You were a jerk sometimes, but you were also adorably short and you took the CPB's side more often than not and helped out sometimes and when David and Ian were kidnapped that one time you said they were just as important to you as they were to Lt. Ehrenthal (who is a genuinely good person and good boss and also handsome with cute glasses, yes I am now giving him all the love I was previously lavishing on Calley)! WHY THIS SUDDEN TREACHERY. ;o; I hope Ian's AI parent who is tentatively alive gives you hell.
... anyway, besides this heartbreak, there were so many other plot things left to deal with! Like, WHAT IS IAN'S AI PARENT GOING TO DO NEXT (besides fuck with Calley for hurting its adorable son), and is Ian going to be okay, and what the fuck are Rekall and VeraDyne doing, and why did Olivia get her memory wiped in the first place and what was her life like before, and why was Martin Sheen in this briefly and who was he, and also aliens? Maybe? ALIENS MIGHT BE A THING, IT WAS VERY UNCLEAR.
I'm going to be in mourning for the lack of a second season for a while, I think. D: I wonder if there's any interviews or whatnot out there that might have hints as to where the show was going to go if renewed... I am also trying to resist the temptation to write horrible self-indulgent fic about AI parent hassling Calley into repentance while David and Ian have weird makeouts and Olivia marries Olan and Lt. Ehrenthal is like "okay whatever just don't bring the wrath of AI parent down on us, please" but also awesome. BRAIN, NO. BRAIN, THERE'S NO TIME FOR THIS. (BUT AI PARENT AND CALLEY AND IAN AND OLAN AND LT. EHRENTHAL!)
