Oh, you're on Earth! Or at least, some version of Earth...did you know there's probably an infinite number of them? It makes it a bit hard to be specific.

That is a relief. [ using the new words in her vocabulary already! ] Infinite versions of Earth? Then, if I were to leave this place which most people assume to be the United States of America and arrive in this Earth's Japan unharmed, I would still not be what I call "home"?

I'm afraid not. I mean, I think this America is a lot different that the one on other worlds, to begin with. Even people originally from there aren't at home, here.

That is ironic. There are those who are home, but are not at home... and cannot return home. That is very... [ It depresses her, but what's the word for it. ] unfortunate.

Well, it is that, but it's not as if it's completely hopeless! I don't think anyone comes here and just accepts it, you know? We're all looking for a way out.

You plan on escaping despite the low probability of your success?

Well, just because no one's managed it so far doesn't mean it's impossible!

Are there any efforts currently underway to achieve this goal?

A few, I'd say. Some people prefer to work on their own, but others come together to try and make it happen, too.

That's right--I'm in high school. As horrible as things can be here, that part's actually sort of fun. It really is just a normal school.
