My resolution is working! (for the most part.....)
So aside from updating more in Livejournal, one of my other resolutions was to get back in touch with old friends. About 90% of the people I contacted got back to me, and I have plans to meet one of them today! My friend Amy (who I know from HS) lives in DC and she and her boyfriend are meeting Spence and I downtown to go to the spy museum and then to dinner. I'm so excited! It makes me happy that I took the initiative to get back in touch with people, and that they want to stay in touch with me.
In other news....I got invited to an engineering conference in downtown Baltimore by the deputy director of my office. Apparently somebody who had signed up couldn't go, and she asked if I wanted to go in this person's place. I said yes! The conference was actually a lot of fun. I learned more about "green" engineering practices, I got three free meals, and it was a great opportunity to network, or as I call it, "schmooze." I was the youngest person there (from what I could tell), so I felt pretty honored that I got invited.
That's it from me! I'm going to head to Starbucks and get a raspberry hot chocolate...mmmmmmm
