First, I have to say- Pee Wee's Playhouse, holy shit.  They've started showing it on Adult Swim and I am no longer in doubt as to why I like so much totally skewed shit.  I used to love that show and never missed it on Saturday morning.  I don't know if it's sentimental value or what but it's still pretty damn entertaining.  I wonder, if I had watched My Little Pony and the Care Bears instead of Pee Wee and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would I have more "normal" tastes today.  Or did these shows create an entire mainstream culture of children who grew up to love this bizarro shit?   I mean, have you seen Aqua Teen Hunger Force?   I find it interesting that a kids' show from 20 years ago fits right in with all the very adult shows they make for us 25-30 somethings today.

Saturday was shopping for and then attending my good friend Shannon's baby shower.  I generally like kids but I'm not usually one to get overly excited about babies.  I am, however, looking forward to having this one around.  She's 36 and had pretty much resigned herself to spinsterhood until she met her husband in Costa Rica just about two years ago.  He'd only been here for two months when they sealed the deal and I know it means so much to her.   She's going to love being a mom and I love to see her happy.  Saturday night hubby and I went out for a nice anniversary dinner at our favorite Thai restaurant.  It was also the place we had our rehearsal dinner.  Yum.  Seems funny that we're "official" one whole year now.

Sunday we spent all day until late helping our friends Beth and Gerard move.  We had to empty out much of his house to make room for all her things so we basically moved two houses worth of stuff.  Their story is pretty interesting.  We were all friends in college and she married the guy she had been dating shortly after they graduated.  Well, that didn't last but she and G had become good friends.  We've all known that he's been in love with her for years and I guess she finally decided to try it out.  About a month later they were engaged and now they're shacking up.  It's really weird to see them "together" after us all being friends for so long.  She and I weren't terribly close in school but have seen a good bit of each other lately since we live in the same town.  It's very cute and a bit cheesy but our dogs love each other.  I was totally surprised and touched when she asked me to be in the wedding.

Today it was back to work and  a lazy night.  Maria and the girls go back to Sicily in a few days :( so I am going to try to have dinner with them tomorrow.  There's a double header hash Wednesday since it's also the full moon.  Not sure if there are two trails or what but we'll see.  I have been spoiled lately with hashes not being far from home but it looks like this one will be a bit of a drive.  I think I am going to have fun plans for this weekend.  Not sure exactly where I'll be but I know it will be a good time.
