Sing me a song to sleep...

May 10, 2007 02:13

I'm surprised at how much things can change in a span of a year. Normally, I listen to music before I go to sleep. Helps clear my head a bit. Hehe.. Pampatulog in short, even if
I'm listening to rock.

The stations programmed to my FM tuner were (top 6 atleast):
Campus radio 97.1     99.5RT     Monster rado RX93.1
K-lite 103.5    Magic 89.9   NU107.5

Gamit ko pa was my discman. I had to use an AC/DC adapter for it whose drawback was once I had removed the plug, all the programmed stations gets erased. If sipagin ako, I'd program Joey, wRock, Jam, Mellow Touch, Home Radio, and any other station that has a gets a good reception in my room (since I live in the basement). My discman couldn't read CDs beyond the 7th or 8th song because it finally bowed to the tortures of falling from
my bed countless times. (Hehe)

Good old radio to keep in tune with the times.

That was until I got too busy with my last year of acads and research for thesis.
I gave in into the convenience of having the songs I liked instantly. I'd load up songs
onto my pda before hitting the sack. So the only radio exposure I got was the 20minute drive to school. But even this was lost during the 2nd sem, since the only time I went to UP was for weekly seminars every Wednesday afternoons. Also, my PDA doesn't have radio (no duh).

I was shocked to find out how things have changed since I last tuned in. I get some exposure on the way to the MRT station, when my dad gives me a lift for my job hunting or exams.

My reaction?

It was like "OMG. Jologs na nga noon yung Campus radio, now it's... it's... undescribable!"..
hahahaha.... They don't go by the name Campus Radio anymore. Neither does 92.3 (dating Joey) or 103.5 (dating K-lite).

I had to reprogram the radio stations of the car. By default, 96.3, 94.7 and 92.3 has to be there, coz it's realtively easy on the ears (and it's for my parents). I added 97.9 Home Radio, Patty added 100.3 RJ fm (although I swear, if RJ Jacinto were to host the radio, I'd flip stations instantly!) for their listening pleasure... Dati merong 97.1 coz Patty liked to listen to the newest pop songs. Now that the station's whacked, I've removed it. Since time memorial, hindi pwede ang NU 107.5 coz my parents consider it as noise, so I had to settle to 99.5RT. Buti na lang their program is still the same. 6 stations lang ang pwede i-program dun sa toyota.

I also semi-acquired Patty's mp3 player. Kaya lang it doesn't get good reception so I hardly stay tuned on the radio.

Tonight, things let up for the first time. The stations were actually clearer than they have been in the past few days. It was nice to rediscover the radio, the music and the nightly seranades which I've been tuned in ever since 3rd grade, when I got my first player. Nakakatuwa.

But the most natuwa ako is with Magic 89.9.... Before, I would tune each night for RADIO TABLOID! Hosted by Slick Rick & DJ Logan. I LOVE the way the narrate the juicy stories listeners send in. 99% of the time, it's sex-related stories. The remaining 1%, they somehow manage to put something green into it. And how they improvise on the sounds for horror, suspense and yes, moans and sexual connotations.

And I'm so happy it's still there! Hahahaha....

Now I can add that to my schedule c",)
A small start to having a more regular routine.
