day 1
i know - everyone is dying to hear about my first day of school. it went really well. it's so hard to actually feel prepared, and i didn't, but it worked out. i didn't get everyone done that i had planned (didn't get to social studies), but that's no biggie. there were no major disasters, no poisonous arachnids, no blood, no emotional meltdowns. what was odd about the day was that it didn't feel like a crazy first day run and around and never actually get anything done sort of day. 18 of my 22 students are the same as last year, so it kinda felt like we had never left. not in a twilight zone psychological torture sort of way, but more like a nice easy slide into the school year. i asked one of my students if she felt like it was going to work out and she said, "i LOVE it." she wasn't being sarcastic, either.
word got out last year that i was giving guitar lessons (only to 1 kid), so now there are a ton of people who are asking me about it. the only way i can accommodate all of them is to start everyone off with group lessons - which i'm pretty sure will make it easy for me to make a ton a money. he he he.
i'll be in wisconsin this weekend at a wedding. i'm free on sunday for breakfast. anyone in wisconsin these days?
oh, and i have a brand new toy. i'll give you a clue, it holds 80 gigs of music and videos.
my burrito is ready. i'm gonna go eat it.
