too many book, so slow at reading

There are too many books I want to read, and funnily enough most of the ones I want to read currently are ones that have live action adaptations. Like, I really want to finish what is available of the Shadowhunter Chronicles by the end of the year, especially since the TV show will be premiering on January 12 next year (kind of excited but also weary because of what I've seen they changed a lot of stuff and the acting is kind of weak). I also read a couple of novels that had movie adaptations that came out this year but I have not seen the movies yet (Paper Towns and Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl), but The Martian is currently in theaters and I really want to watch it at the same time I want to read the book. And then although I have already read Mockingjay I want to reread that to refresh my memory in preparation of the last movie coming out next month.

And currently, I am reading Life and Death, the gender bended 'Twilight re-imagined' 10th(!) anniversary edition of Twilight. It's sometimes really hard to imagine Beau as a guy though, and surprisingly there have been a couple of notable changes to the story other than just switching 'he' to 'she'. But re-reading this, in a way, makes me want to maybe complete the whole series. I gave up on New Moon, and for a time I was kinda happy to give up the series because when the movies came out it was ridiculous and hated. But there is still something in me, a completionist of sorts, wants to really finish the series and see what it's about. And because I fly through audiobooks much faster, I think I might do it.

Speaking of, I hate how I am such a slow reader! I feel like I get distracted so often, where I'll be reading studiously for about 10 minutes then I'll just randomly go and do something else: check out Youtube or Reddit. I also feel a lot of pressure because there is just so many books I want to read but I am sooo slow at getting to them. It's a total shame though because I always liked to read but only found out about all if this a couple years ago with The Hunger Games, but now that I am really into it I feel the pressure of having so many series and books I want to get into and read.

a little too much, obsession, bookie club, kinda happy kinda sad
