...what would happen?
I think I might like Tony Stark, considering his background, and how vulnerable Robert Downey Jr looks when he's playing Iron Man, I'm beginning to be reminded of Artemis Fowl...what Arty could have turned out to be if he had never met the fairies. Tony Stark's an asshole but he's a pitable tragic character, but I still have trouble LIKING him since so many things about him are just miles over the line, the antithesis of all that I hold dear.
Batman TAS 1992 was the series I grew up watching, and Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley was my role model. Finally, in that version of Batman, there is a formidable femme fatale, who has her own agendas, her own life, her own personality, completely independent of The Man.
Poison Ivy was never obsessed with Batman, she wanted to get back at him for foiling her schemes, but it was never personal the way it was with Joker. Poison Ivy was unique, she wasn't in it for money, she isn't a sadist (though she isn't bleeding empathy either...), she didn't want to take over the world, I don't think she care to live forever, and she wasn't plain insane.
Poison Ivy care about the environment, and she loves her plants. There was a scene during "The Trial", where Poison Ivy went berserk when Batman's lawyer (long story) started plucking a flower, but keep in mind that this is an Ivy that had been imprisoned in an asylum (traditionally sensory depriving institutions), so that probably did not improve her.
Poison Ivy, in the episode where she was introduced, "Pretty Poison", was a professor, she was not socially crippled, she knew how to flirt and she seemed normal enough when she was dating Harvey Dent. Her tastes were not confined to plants, she was listening to classical music in her greenhouse, she's politically aware, identifies as a feminist, and was totally So Married with Harley in "Harley and Ivy".
Poison Ivy can be the Chaotic Force, in her eco-terrorism activities, but her eco-terrorism activities was a reaction to the destruction of the environment she holds dear. In the comics, Poison Ivy has actually once left Gotham, and found peace on a desert island she nursed into oasis...before some assholes used it to test weapons, sending a raging Ivy storming back to civilization to take her revenge.(This is something I feel raw about again, because another one of my favourite fields has been paved over for a commercial condo, it had waves of wildflowers and butterflies and bumblebees every square inch) I believe that under the right circumstances, Poison Ivy can be the very picture of Harmony, she was the one who kept the children safe, when Gotham was abandoned after the earthquake (comic). Poison Ivy is against the destruction of the environment, but she's NOT anti-technology. Me thinks that Ivy would have loved the fairies in Artemis Fowl very much.
