Ian McKellen would make such an awesome Grindelwald

I know that only British actors would be picked for the British characters, but since Grindelwald's nationality was never confirmed, couldn't they ask for Ian McKellen?

I just checked out his wiki, and this is him when he was younger, Stonewall era:

His wavy hair is almost curly!

It's just that, I've started reading J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit lately, and I absolutely adore Gandalf. He isn't like Dumbledore, or Merlin at all, he's chaotic. Gandalf values adventure over caution, to the point where his morality is shady... He can be quite cheerful in spite of the fact that his more mortal companions most likely would not all come back from their impending adventure alive. Gandalf also have a bit of a temper when things are not going his way.

'Of course there is a mark,' said Gandalf. 'I put it there myself. For very good reasons. You asked me to find the fourteenth man for your expedition, and I chose Mr.Baggins. Just let any one say I chose the wrong man or the wrong house, and you can stop at thirteen and have all the bad luck you like, or go back to digging coal.'

He scowled so angrily at Gloin that the dwarf huddled back in his chair; and when Bilbo tried to open his mouth to ask a question, he turned and frowned at him and stuck out his bushy eyebrows, till Bilbo shut his mouth tight with a snap. 'That's right,' said Gandalf. 'Let's have no more argument. I have chosen Mr.Baggins and that ought to be enough for all of you. If I say he is a Burglar, a Burglar he is, or will be when the time comes. There is a lot more in him than you guess, and a deal more than he has any idea of himself. You may (possibly) all live to thank me yet.

Somebody's got to write that crossover! Gandalf/Dumbledore would rock so hard! I'm sure I saw a parody fanart of Gandalf hitting on Dumbledore already...I totally have to find that link again.

Dumbledore's character is totally crossover material, he's an extraordinary individual who had lived a long life, and unfortunately, there aren't enough people in his age group to write him with. There was Gellert, and Elphias...then maybe Snape and maybe Tom.

So far, the only crossover slash I've read was Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with Dumbledore as a definite couple...The Next Hero by hth_the_first. Then at Fanfiction.net, there were several in which Dumbledore were friends with Clow Reed from CLAMP's Card Captor Sakura and xxxHOLiC.
