...and I voted

For NDP! Provincial NDP...and I /think/ I still consider myself a Liberal, but I voted NDP and I wanted them to win.

I also voted for MMP, and hope that option comes through. I see 'American-style democracy' as a grand failure, it was a FAIL from the start since it was rich white men giving themselves to vote over how to manage their women, their black slaves, and the land they stole from the aboriginals they tried to genoicide off...but the system itself, first pass the post, it just leads to situations where we end up with Evil and Lesser Evil, competitive authoritarianism.

MMP is the way to go, and New Zealand is a model of democracy Canada can take example from.

So I'm crossing the finger it'll pass in Ontario, for Canada and the world, because if Ontario does it, other provinces might follow, and the Americans might too. Chinese-Canadians in Ontario could also end up bringing the MMP idea back to China. I think China IS moving to democracy, slowly, and not always /forward/, but there are some village elections now. If they move to democracy, I hope they don't make the mistake of an American-style democracy. The worse kind of dictatorship is the ones that looks legit because then the people don't know whether ot rebel or not.

Oh yeah, praise the paper ballot!
