GENERAL QUESTIONS

Your Name?: Gwendolyn (Gwen)

Age?: Seventh year

Gender?: The far more attractive one. ...that's female, mind you.

Location?: The California coast

Horoscope?: Birthday, July 31st (Leo) - Virgo Moon, Capricorn Rising

Likes?: Writing writing writing! Socializing, being in charge, reading (lots of reading), poetry (mostly e.e. cummings and Emily Dickinson), salt & pepper, being barefoot, big thick sweaters, colorful pants, long & lazy summer days, candles, ampersands, photography, down comforters, and the idea of magic overcoming normalcy.

Dislikes?: Talentless people who think they're extremely gifted, dishonest people, betrayal, yams, gore & horror, having my toes so cold they hurt, toothaches, doing the wrong thing.

Hobbies?: Writing, tutoring, horseback riding, singing, guitar-ing, and photography

Favourite quote/saying/lyric?:
"The world is but a canvas to our imaginations."
"Darkness is your candle, your boundaries are your quest." - Rumi
"We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all." - The Breakfast Club
"It's called a sense of humor - you should get one - they're nice." - Pretty in Pink
"It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile. Be yourself, no matter what they say." - Sting
"I think I know, I don’t think I know, I don’t think - think I know, I don’t think I think." - Cowboy Bebop
"Every puzzle has an answer." - Professor Layton

What are your strengths?: Loyalty, honesty, intelligence, wit, friendliness, courage, sense of right and wrong, ability to stand up for myself and others, way with words.

What are your weaknesses?: Bad temper, pride, procrastination, forgetfulness, sensitive, slightly hypocritical (only sometimes), a bit lazy, sharp tongue.

What do you like best about yourself?: My sense of humor. I'm pretty thankful for my ability to make things funny.

What are your goals or aims in life?: To be remembered. To do what's right. To be a writer. To live in London. To stay in touch with my friends. To be missed. To never run out of things to read. To have the courage to pull myself through hardship and the self-confidence to be happy when I've made it. To have found Laputa. To make true friends.

PERSONAL QUESTIONS

Which character from Harry Potter, EXCLUDING the obvious answer of Harry, would you say you most admire and why?: Oh, most certainly Luna Lovegood. Not only is she absolutely fantastic (and my uncontested favorite), but she is unafraid of being herself; she disregards the opinions of others completely, and is constantly there to support her friends, in her own eccentric but totally heartwarming ways. I adore her.

Which Hogwarts subjects would you be best and worst at - or otherwise like and dislike most?:
I think in terms of skill I'd be best at Flying (I have very good vision, quick reflexes, and the imagination for it) and worst at Potions (Chemistry in general has never been my strong point, nor has cooking). When it comes to what I'd like or dislike, I'm sure I'd love Flying just as well, but would probably also really love Care of Magical Creatures. Dislike, Potions and History of Magic.

Which house would you WANT to be in, or which do you have most respect for and why?: Ahahaha, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor are constantly competing in my poor little head. (And oddly, I dislike Hufflepuff way more than Slytherin.) I mean, they're both the greatest houses Hogwarts has - Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, that is - and both extremely respectable. Gryffindor's chivalry, loyalty, and bravery make it probably the most-glorified house in the series (and for a bloody good reason, don't doubt me there); Ravenclaw, with its wit, intellect, and creativity is the sort of house that everyone sort of... well, envies. Haha. I mean, I'd want to be in Ravenclaw, but I think I'd end up in Gryffindor. But I'm definitely not complaining.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?: Well, if I changed, then I wouldn't be myself anymore, would I? Silly.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?: I want to change my generation into something that's worth existing; no more bland music or hateful outlooks or aesthetic downturns. I want to change this era - the war, the economy, the government - and make it into something worth remembering in the textbooks; something like the Summer of Love or the Roaring Twenties.

How much use would magic have in your current everyday life?:

If you had one day left to live, what would you do?: Oh, bollocks; um... I'd spend it with my boyfriend, I think, and perhaps I'd spend nineteen hours telling him how much I adore him, and maybe we'd have sex for the first time, I don't know. I'd spend the rest of the time with my family and friends all together. And I'd do my best to have a poem or story I've written really, formally published.

Tell us three random things about yourself:
I was born with a cleft palate.
I know more about Harry Potter than American History.
I've been all over Europe but never anywhere in the U.S. except my home state, California. Sad, eh?

THIS OR THAT QUESTIONS

Realism or Idealism?: Idealism
Optimism or Pessimism?: Optimism
Order or Flexibility?: Flexibility
Planning or Spontaneity?: Spontaneity
Goals or Dreams?: Oh, dreams, without a doubt. Goals seem so dreadfully boring, don't they?
Practical or Abstract?: Abstract
The Individual or The Collective?: The Individual
Standing your ground or Surrendering?: Standing your ground!
Lover or Fighter?: It's easier to have both than you might think.
Impulsive or Cautious?: Impulsive
Mature or Immature?: Mature in times of seriousness; immature in times of humor.

SITUATIONAL / IN-STORY QUESTIONS

Would you hex someone who was bothering you there and then?: Nah. I mean, my temper might nag at me to do it, but I wouldn't (half because I'd get in trouble and half because I'd know it was wrong). But I mean, if they were being cruel, or were getting really inappropriate, then... yeah, I'd Bat Bogey 'em from here to eternity.

What do you see in the Mirror of Erised?: What every selfish person sees: things that would make me more happy than anything in the world. I can't really know what, above else, my heart really desires, so I can't really answer that question.

What special wizarding power - i.e. Animagi, Metamorphagi, being a Seer - would you want to have?: Hmm, probably Metamorphagi. It'd be brilliant to be able to change my hair color whenever it suited my fancy, haha. And it would be quite practical!

In what situation would you use an Unforgiveable curse?: In defense of someone I love, if he or she was in grave danger.

Be honest - if you were in the wizarding community, what view would you take on blood heritage? (If you don't know, perhaps put your current views of class and the like into context): In all honesty? I wouldn't give a bloody damn. People are people, wizards are wizards; blood heritage and social hierarchies should mean nothing. As the Declaration of Independence said, "we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." Don't base your opinions of people on their families or their backgrounds, base it on who they are. There is nothing but the kind of person someone is beneath all the genes and pasts and family likenesses. And I think nothing but that should be considered in the long run. We're all the same (but not in, you know, a conformist way).

Imagine the Death Eaters come to your house, you being the head of an average wizarding family. They say join them, or otherwise give them ONE member of the family. What do you choose to do? What action perhaps would you take after making this decision?: I'd fight them, to the death if I had to, to protect my family. Plain and simple. They could hurt me all they wanted, but not my family. And I wouldn't join them, either. It would be the noble thing to do, but what good is being noble if you're on Voldemort's side? Bloody hell.

Colin Creevey has been following you around all day, trying to get you to teach him a new secret spell he saw you do that he thought was cool. What do you do?: Aw, if it wasn't secret, I'd teach him (he's adorable). But I'd explain to him that I couldn't teach it to him because it was secret. Naturally, he'd start asking me why it was secret in the first place. Eh, if he really kept pestering me, I'd politely tell him to leave me alone. If he still continued, I'd... I dunno... ask Gred and Forge for help. They'd have some bright ideas.

Would you rather be attacking up close and personal, hiding far off using a type of long range attacks, or not on the battle field at all?: The latter two are just cowardly. I'd be fighting up-close and personal. It's easier to hit your opponent that way, but also easier to be hit. If given the choice, that's what I'd pick. I mean, I wouldn't mind attacking from a long way off, but I'd feel like a coward, avoiding battle for fear of death or injury.

FINAL QUESTIONS

If you could become any character from the series for one day - 24 hours - who would it be?: Luna Lovegood. HANDS. DOWN.

If you were given the chance to permanently become part of the HP-verse (as "yourself"), would you take it?: Yes, oui, ja, si, da, yeah, sim, ndiyo, na'am, hai, igen, tak, Y. E. S.

Wait. Let me think for a sec.

YESSSS.
