GENERAL QUESTIONS
Your Name?: Laura Katariina
Age?: 18, and quite frankly still not used to it.
Gender?: Looks female to me.
Location?: Finland
Horoscope?: Leo
Likes?: Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass, randomosity, wandering, photography, the stars, the clouds, rainbows, autumn, Rice Krispies, bunnies, Disney, Tim Burton, Michel Gondry, imagination, open-mindedness. Sorry, I'm just typing random things here.
Dislikes?: Homophobia, hatred, injustice, Adam Sandler, closemindedness, clingy / needy people, blind faith / never questioning things, overly romantic things, greed.
Hobbies?: Photography, wandering aimlessly in nature, sailing, occasional jogging, music & movies, lj obviously, writing, reading, being / doing random stuff, collecting playing cards [seriously, I have something like 15 packs of cards], collecting quotes.
Favourite quote/saying/lyric?:
"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today." → James Dean
&
"I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are, because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star.
I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far, for a might-have-been has never been, but a has was once an are."
→ Milton Berle
What are your strengths?: I'm imaginative, open-minded, silly, random, a daydreamer, free-spirited, observant, impulsive, enthusiastic and funny.
What are your weaknesses?: I can be indecisive, impatient, tardy, too random, stubborn, easily distracted, sensitive, cynical and questioning.
What do you like best about yourself?: My imagination. Wouldn't trade it for the world. It's such a big part of me that I wouldn't know what to do without it. I'm constantly daydreaming and I'm up in my own worlds and it's rather difficult to knock me back to the real world. Therefore I can be pretty easily distracted and distant. But that's just how I roll.
What are your goals or aims in life?: Hmm. Usually if I set up goals for myself, I end up screwing them up somehow so I avoid that. But what I'd like to do, would include: Traveling around the world with nothing but a backpack and my camera, direct a movie, visit outer space (if ever made possible).
PERSONAL QUESTIONS
Which character from Harry Potter, DISCLUDING the obvious answer of Harry, would you say you most admire and why?:
Luna Lovegood; She is who she is no matter what people think and I think that is fantastic. She is wonderfully weird and loving. And quite smart, after all she is a Ravenclaw.
Which Hogwarts subjects would you be best and worst at - or otherwise like and dislike most?:
Best: I always wanted to know more about Astronomy studies. Stars and outer space are something I need to watch, they give me great comfort. And I woul love to visit outer space if it would ever be made possible for normal sock consumers like me. Honestly, with some good music in the background and stars above me, I'm on my happiest.
Worst: I'm leaning towards Numerology and Potions. I'm really not at all good at math and chemistry/physics sort of things in real life.
Which house would you WANT to be in, or which do you have most respect for and why?:
I respect all of the houses pretty equally. They all offer something different and I would really love to be a part of any of the houses. But if I had to pick, I'd say wisdom and courage, so that means Ravenclaw and Gryffindor.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?:
I'd like to be more adventurous and just take a chance with things, whatever they may be... love, school, life in general. Being sure of myself wouldn't be bad either. I have so much potential but I just don't... do anything about it.
If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?: Less hatred. Period.
How much use would magic have in your current everyday life?: I think I'd use it pretty often, but not every second you know, only for cleaning and doing other household chores. I do have my random moments of neat-freaking but not that often that my house would be superclean all the time.
If you had one day left to live, what would you do?:
Live that day the best I could, try to fulfill as many dreams as I could. I think in that situation I'd have the courage to do everything I ever wanted because it would be my last chance. Funny how people always leave things undone and then it's too late...
Tell us three random things about yourself:
♦ When I pour soda into a cup/glass, I have to hold my hand on top of it when I take the first sip, because the sparkle/bubble/whatever the heck they're called, will say hi to my glasses and then I have stains on my glasses. If that sentense made ANY sense at all, I salute you! I don't even know how to say this in my mothertongue, so that's why it's difficult to explain. Point being: cover the cup with my hand so sparkles won't get into my glasses.
♦ I've slept on the roof of our house. I did that because I was locked out of our house and it was 4 AM and I didn't want to wake people up. So it was my clever thought to go check what our roof was like. And I found out it was quite comfortable and I loved spending time there that night. Just me and the stars. I played solitaire, listened to music and slept. And it was so high up that there weren't any mosquitos to bother me.
♦ I dream of one day taking a plane to South-America and visiting the Amazon.
THIS OR THAT QUESTIONS
Realism or Idealism?: Idealism! Thinking realistically is not my thing, really.
Optimism or Pessimism?: Optimism. I used to be a huge pessimist, haha. Luckily I've changed :)
Order or Flexibility?: Flexibility!
Planning or Spontaneity?: Spontaneity!
Goals or Dreams?: Dreams!
Practical or Abstract?: Abstract! Okay sorry about the "!"'s but I just feel very strongly about them.
The Individual or The Collective?: The Individual.
Standing your ground or Surrendering?: In between. It depends entirely on my mood and who I'm with. With some people, I surrender easily and with others I don't.
Lover or Fighter?: A lover I suppose, since I'm not much of a fighter.
Impulsive or Cautious?: Impulsive! Though cautious when out of my comfort zone or with strangers.
Mature or Immature?: Now, if I can choose, I'd rather be immature because it's more freeing and fun. But I can be mature if it's needed.
SITUATIONAL / IN-STORY QUESTIONS
Would you hex someone who was bothering you there and then?: Definitely not. It's not a solution, at least not a permanent one. I think it would be useless. *shrugs*
What do you see in the Mirror of Erised?: Myself being completely happy. I would be completely free of insecurity and would love myself for who I am. I would feel no guilt and no shame and would just be... myself, completely and utterly.
What special wizarding power - i.e. Animagi, Metamorphagi, being a Seer - would you want to have?: I'm leaning towards animagi. It would be refreshing to let go of your human obligations and be a poodle or something every once in a while.
In what situation would you use an Unforgivable curse?: I don't think I would, actually. I simply wouldn't have what it takes to use an Unforgivable. And I don't think it would solve anything, really. "You killed my dog, prepare to die!" sort of things have never made any sense to me. What good do I get from harming someone, even if they've harmed someone dear to me? Revenge is pointless. It just consumes you and then you're nothing but a shadow of your old self. (That sounds familiar, have I read it somewhere?)
Be honest - if you were in the wizarding community, what view would you take on blood heritage? (If you don't know, perhaps put your current views of class and the like into context): I think it's of no use to put people in boxes or in a picking order. I myself wouldn't have anything against muggleborns or purebloods or squibs or whoever.
Imagine the Death Eaters come to your house, you being the head of an average wizarding family. They say join them, or otherwise give them ONE member of the family. What do you choose to do? What action perhaps would you take after making this decision? I'd probably join them, you know, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em sort of thing. I wouldn't enjoy being a deatheater, though. I don't think I have what it takes to be downright evil.
Colin Creevey has been following you around all day, trying to get you to teach him a new secret spell he saw you do that he thought was cool. What do you do?: Teach the boy the spell already if he wants to learn it so badly. But only if he promises not to bother me for at least a week or so. Heck, it'd be kinda fun to have him follow me actually. At least I'd have some company.
Would you rather be attacking up close and personal, hiding far off using a type of long range attacks, or not on the battle field at all?: Preferrably not on the battle field at all, but if I had to, I'd be hiding far off and using long range attacks. I'm not much of a fighter, I'm more of an observer.
FINAL QUESTIONS
If you could become any character from the series for one day - 24 hours - who would it be?:
Gilderoy Lockhart, before he went into the Chamber of Secrets and got his memory busted. It'd be hilarious to be him, all full of himself and all. Having a ton of fanmail and squealing fangirls :D
If you were given the chance to permanently become part of the HP-verse (as "yourself"), would you take it?: Heck, yes! What'd be more fun than magic and being able to use it?
