For the moment, the infirmary is quiet. The few patients are resting comfortably and are being monitored closely by Poppy and her staff. The Weasley men are still huddled together in a corner drawing strength from each other, settled for now. Everyone hopes that things will remain quiet, but Poppy knows from experience that this is far more

The Death Eater teetered slowly and toppled sideways, the full body-bind that he had been placed under rendering him unable to break his fall.

"Hullo..." he managed to say, but his features failed to lift into his usual grin. He wondered if he'd ever feel like smiling again.

"I hate to intrude, but I'm afraid I need your help, Bill. Someone has used a portkey to send Draco Malfoy into the receiving bay. Hestia was gone. Remus was gone. She knew Remus wasn't dead but the ache of parting was just as sharp. Or maybe right now everything felt as sharp.
When she was finished and her hands were washed, she hobbled back into the infirmary. Faces all around her, but she didn't see Padma or Valerius, she didn't see Harry or Ron. Maybe they were just in other beds, but..
With all the wobbly gravity of a one-legged stork she began to make her way down the rows of beds, searching for familiar faces. And hoping that if she did not find them here, that they were not still on the battlefield and not to
