Open RP in the Hospital Wing

Oct 15, 2006 01:01

Agnes marched about the Wing in her usual, brisk manner, cleaning instruments and hexing the odd Doxie as she went. Agnes supported magical creatures in general, and they were obviously very useful in potion and spell ingredients, but she drew the line when they managed to break into the liquor cabinet, that was for employees only. Also, mostly her ( Read more... )

Christine walked into the hospital wing rather hesitantly, and, once she blinked away the spots she saw from looking directly at the wards as they lit up, rapped on the door.

She waited a moment and pushed her blonde hair out of her blue eyes before timidly inquiring, "Hello? I'm sorry to intrude. I can come back later, if wish...."

Agnes marched up, rubbing at a smear on her cheek hastily. "What?" she asked shortly.

Christine shrank back, plucking nervously at the folds of her shawl. "I'm terribly sorry to bother you, miss. I, ah... fainted a few days back, and though Dr. Maturin was luckily there to revive me, I thought I should check in with the hospital wing to make sure I wasn't ill. My family has a... a... history of ill health, I'm afraid." Her eyes clouded a moment and she shook her head to rid it of bad memories. "I've been fine since then, but I did think it best to check."

((Anything you want Christine to be told? If there's something there, Agnes will probably find it, so...))

Agnes frowned for several more seconds before she began walking to one of the curtained beds. "Come in here, dear." she said, holding the curtain back for her.

((No, not really. Her parents both died of tuberculosis, but she doesn't have it in canon. It was an IC- thing for her to worry about, though, so I had her come here.))

"Yes, Madame." Christine swept her numerous skirts out of the way and perched on the edge of the bed. She folded her hands together in her lap.

"Hold this, please." she said in a business-like tone, handing Christine a long, silvery tube with various sigils carved into it.

Christine did so, feeling quite perplexed. She turned it around a moment, absently trying to figure out what it was, before putting it back the right way up and feeling rather guilty for turning it.

"Blow into that end." she ordered, grabbing a salve and rubbing a little onto the woman's wrist.

Christine took a deep breath and then exhaled into the tube, eyes on her wrist.

The large farting noise and luminescent bubbles may have come as a surprise to her then as the shot out the other end, stcking to every inch of Christine they could reach.

Christine jerked back in surprise, and, blue eyes wide, looked at the bubbles attaching themselves to her. "I... don't mean to interrupt the workings of medicine, but was that supposed to happen?"

"Relax." Agnes snapped, concentrating on the bubbles and muttering, doing a very complicated twiddle with her wand.

Christine nodded meekly, and attempted to relax as much as possible while watching someone perform an unknown spell on her.

Slowly, an out line of Christine began to form from misty light, coalescing into a defined, see through copy. Agnes looked at it hard, muttering still and jabbing it several times with her wand. As she pointed and muttered, the figure responded, various areas glowing, or suddenly solidifying into near-solid organs. After several minutes, Agnes muttered something in a harsh, gutteral tone, then the figure disapeared, and she stepped back weakly, the perspiration evident on her brow.

"Oh dear. Are you alright? That looked like very complex magic." Not that Christine had much experience with any sort of magic at all. She'd managed to botch a 'very simple potion' in Potions Class after all.

"Fine." Agnes snapped, forcing herself to stand firmly, despite tghe fatigue and pain. "You're perfectly healthy, Ms." she said, opening the curtain.
