Jake Blues - The Blues Brothers

Jake nods, calmly surveying the area. He's spoken to Elwood and feels in control--that is, he looks as if he is, and he feels fairly confident in his situation. After all, it's better than being hounded by cops. He doesn't know how he got here, but does that really matter right now? He's just glad that he's found a place, and that he's found his ( Read more... )

Christine curtsied. "Christine Daae. Pleased to meet you." She tilted her head to the side. "May I inquire what type of musician you are? I sing opera, myself."

Jake raised an eyebrow at the girl. Nice-looking, if fancy. "I'm into rhythm and blues, myself, but I'm not gonna fault another singer, long's it's not country."

"I've never heard of rhythm or blues," Christine admitted, with an embarassed little laugh. "Would it be too bold of me to ask you to sing some of either?"

"They pretty much go together, darling." He nodded, "I'd be glad to, as long as you wouldn't mind singing for me some day." Jake had never been into opera much, but had a difficult time resisting any natural singer.

Ah, hello, Mr. Blues! Are you any relation to the other Mr. Blues we Sorted the other week?

"Yeah, Elwood? We're brothers."

Oh yes. Tall thin taciturn gentleman who shares your fashion sense, I believe. I seem to recall he sorted into Hufflepuff; as you're brothers, would you wish to be sorted there with him?

That'd be him.

Sounds good to me; someone needs to keep an eye on him, anyway. Never know what he might do.

((OOC: Playing both of them is not in violation of our rules, as you may play two chars from a fandom. And obviously you don't have to contact yourself to discuss storylines and such! *g* The only drawback I can see is one that might affect you, and that is that it is often harder to play your own characters off each other. But if you don't mind doing that, it's not a problem at all as far as rules. I apologize that nobody answered your question before this. I think that it's very possible people were worried there might be a mod issue with the app because of it, and didn't vote because they thought the app might be taken down. I can go on and sort him, or wait a bit to see if the app gets more activity, whichever you would prefer.))

((OOC: Thanks kindly; suppose I should've just asked earlier, but I seem to have this issue with not thinking things through. And I don't mind playing 'em together and such, so ja, thankee for telling. Annnnnnd with the sorting, 's'all good; whatever works best for you. Jake'd kind of like to hear some input, but if people don't want to, don't want to be a pain about it. *shrug* Yeah, sorry... That response wasn't so very helpful. Again, it'd be nice to ehar some folksies, but I'm all good with whenever.))

((OOC: You're welcome, and it's okay! Let's give him at least another day to see if he gets more votes. I'm not in any hurt to sort, I just want to make sure he isn't overlooked by the hat.))

"Why would penguins kill you? They always seemed like very nice birds to me. They're very round and cute, and I think I'd like to have one living in my bathroom one day."

"Yeah, well, this Penguin ain't so cute. She's got a thing for the Lord, and she sure knows how to use a ruler. I wouldn't recommend keeping her in your bedroom, kid."

Osaka looks at him blankly. "A mean trained penguin? I heard rolled up newspaper works on dogs. Maybe it would work on birds."

"No, no," Jake shakes his head. "The Penguin's a nun. Might be funny to try the newspaper, but I'd bet she'd just deal it back."

That'd be the guy. Talked to him about swiping cars. I'm guessin' you want to be sorted the same place as him?

Get him started on cars, he won't stop.

That'd be all right with me.
