Secrets post 5!

Sep 16, 2006 00:14

There is a noticeboard up outside the Great Hall and one by one, images are appearing pinned to the corkboard, with students tacking up thoughts on the images on index cards. Nobody can ever catch anyone posting an image, only the comments, and there is no way to use magic or science to know who posted what.

OOC: what is this thing and what are the rules? )

What if they want to be there? Is that a possibility?

If they did... If they did, then I'd be chuffed beyond measure. But I'm realistic. And, even if I thought they might want to, I couldn't ask that of them.

Is "chuffed," like, a really common word for you guys?

Er...yes. Sorry. I...should actually know better by now. The American equivalent would be 'stoked', I believe, if that helps? Excited, ecstatic, that sort of thing. Or a gesture to show the same emotion would be a 'thumbs up'. (I've been studying American slang.)

Well, yes. But I prefer to think of it as one of my more endearing qualities.

Don't worry, it is.

So. I'm... going to go ahead and guess this is you? And me?

Well, I... think I am, at least. Unless there's a whole lot going on I don't know about.

It's not Chocolate Cookie Guy, is it? I feel like I have to at least check.

Yes, it's you.

...So. Yeah. I guess here is where I launch into the big 'I just wanted you to know, but you don't have to say anything, we never even have to talk about it' speech, eh?

Oh, for Merlin's sake. Not even remotely.

Boy oh boy, you have some interesting timing.

Look, I'm... not really sure what I want to say yet, and I definitely do not want to say it here. Can you give me a little time?

Had to make sure.

Well, I do try.

I wasn't expecting anything, to be honest, so the...the fact that you acknowledged this is...well, let's just say I'm surprised. And you know you never need to feel obligated with me, yeah? So take time. Take as much as you need. I meant it when I said we never have to talk about this. Whatever you want, whatever you need, you can have it.

Trust me, he's got nothing on you. Not by a long shot.

You really are amazing. I will tell you that.

So do I get to find out who it is any time soon?

Glad you realize it. You're none to shabby, yourself.

I've already forgotten. That's how good you are.

Okay, I know you're lying, but I'll accept that answer for now.
