Jack after the incident with the Dalek is now under the bed, not just for hiding he has a box too. Box of photographs, the reason he wants a camera. He pushes the box out to give more room and he stays there, quite happy. Maybe it was still the dingo instincts there. Maybe it was just a general not wanting to deal with the Dalek. Whatever it was he was comfortable under there. The box would act as a trap of sorts he could happily attack the feet of JD, if he came in. Definitely the dingo instincts.
