Return Raven, charmed to turn into flowers if opened by other than Sarah lilypotter60 June 23 2006, 20:58:19 UTC
Sarah ~

First of all, mate, excellent hex! I'm quite proud!

JD - I've met him, yeah. By the lake once. He was sweet. What's happened to him? Is he all right?

No worries about the party. I had - fun actually, but I'll tell you about it later. I always have time for you, love. If you like, you can stop by Ravenclaw. You know the password, yeah? My room is still sans roommates and I can put up a ward if need be.

Lily,

Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. Hope you like this one too. I actually can paperfold without magic, it's relaxing.

He fell down the stairs and is in a coma - which still shocks me, I had gotten into thinking magic could save everything. I've been sitting with him every day when I can and talking to him, as even though most doctors would laugh. I say comatose patients can hear, even if they can't respond, and I wanted him to not be lonely. I've also been reading him magic books, maybe he'll learn magic by osmosis?

Yep, still have the password as long as it's the same, I'll be there in about twenty minutes.

Sarah

And approximately twenty minutes later, Sarah did arrive in Ravenclaw and made her way up to Lily's room. When she reached the door, she knocked, then waited. Though the shock had worn off in two days, she seemed to radiate tension, as well as weariness because she had not been sleeping well at all.

Lily was ensconced in a pile of books on Herbology. Hearing the knock, however, she disentangled herself from her work and went to open the door. A beautiful bouquet of yellow roses were on a table with a pot of tea and two mugs.

"Hello," she said, starting with a cheerful smile that quickly faded. "Merlin, Sarah, what's wrong?"

Quickly pulling her friend into the room she shut the door and put up the best ward she knew. No one could eavesdrop on the room in any manner, physically or magically. Pushing a large pile of books and parchment off of a nearby chair, she gestured for Sarah to sit.

((OOC: Sorry! Work is *crazy* today, but I'll be home in about 2 and half hours and be on IRC. I'll try and keep up until then! AND reposted for #$@!! html. XD))

Sarah sank into the chair limply, immediately drawing up her legs to her body it what was becoming a common pose of her inner turmoil lately.

"Everything," she said wearily, resting her chin on her knees. "Oh Lily..." She struggled for something to say without giving explicit details out to Lily. While she needed to talk, not everyone needed to know what exactly was going on, only the general situation. "It's River... she's really, really ill in a way that can't be fixed. She's not going to get better and now she's shut away in the hospital wing. That's how I knew about poor JD," her eyes began to shine, though no tears fell. "I went spying, though I shouldn't have, and found him and got distracted. I still haven't seen her, she has to be in a private room. I don't even honest know why I want to do what I was doing."

She rubbed at her face fretfully. "He said," she began, choking on a bitter laugh, "that it would be easier now. That now I'd be able to leave the grounds. I don't think I want easier at all!"

Obviously Sarah did not make a habit of sending messages to explain her whereabouts, nor did Stephen ever ask or expect her to do so. Therefore, Stephen took this message as a sign that something was gravely wrong. Why he should need to reply by owl he did not know; he thought it perfectly feasible to send a house-elf to find Sarah, and he sent his own house-elf with the following answer.

Should you have need of me, I will be in the office. Do not hesitate to call on me.

Remember I love you.

Stephen,

I'm fine. If you're worried, you don't need to be. I may come see you later to actually get Professor Grant's books so I don't get behind.

I love you too.

Whenever you like. Are you quite sure about that?

Stephen,

I will come later then, though I'm not sure yet when exactly it will be. Yes, I'm sure, but I appreciate you taking the time to notice that.
