Our faq, which should be considered the Hogwarts Hocus Rulebook, has been amended to include the following:

21. Popcorning Limit. Due to the popcorning policy being exploited, we're now limiting popcorned characters to three. That means that you can have a total of six active characters (with no more than two from one fandom) and three popcorned ( Read more... )

It's not a stupid question at all. Thank you for asking. No, we do not count squibbait apps against your character total. We couldn't even if we wanted to, because squibbait often doesn't reply to comments, so we have no way of tracking the IPs, even if we wanted to. The total only applies to chars that are at some point accepted to the school.

Not that this has ever come up, but just as a fun hypothetical ... what would happen if someone wanted to re-app a squibbed character, and not as squibbait? (Honestly am not trying to torture the mods with hypotheticals; this is actually inspired by an OOC conversation about Jay of Jay and Silent Bob. Wasn't really going anywhere, but did wonder.)

You're not bothering me at all, and it's another very good question! Yes, that is allowed. In fact, that is the whole reason I sometimes try to declare an applicant an imposter. In the cases where we've done that already (Zombie!Cedric and a few others - they're in the char list), you just reapp, no questions asked. In the cases where they weren't originally declared an imposter, the new applicant is going to have to convince the Hat that the original applicant was an imposter and they are the real deal. It helps a lot if they can get other comm members, especially those from their canon, to agree.

This might be a dumb question, but does the same rule apply as to when the character limit was changed to six? I.E. If we had more than three popcorned characters as of before this new rule was made, it doesn't matter, right?
