Detention for Kentaro

Mar 10, 2006 14:30

Crowley found himself the next day in the same place waiting for yet another student to show up for detention. Figuring he might as well be productive in the meantime, he started writing out the homework for the Herbology class. Every once in a while he'd stop to check his very expensive watch and frown.

*finally appears, though very very late, dressed in work clothes and bandana* Sorry for lateness, Professor, but I'm ready to work it off the wasted time, if you want!

"At least you realize you're late, Mr. Higashikunimaru," said Crowley grumpily, standing up. "And what precisely was more important than your detention this evening?"

"Well, I kind of had to take a bath... you see, I woke up covered in red liquid, assuming it is blood, with the following written in the same liquid on the wall of my room: "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!". I don't think it would ahve been appropriate to come to detention in such a state, specificially if it was a type of blood that was toxic to the plants!"

Crowley murmured something under his breath that sounded like, "Fucking Cthulhu..."

He pulled himself together and pointed to an odorous pile at the back of the greenhouse. "Dragon dung," he said. Then he pointed at the Venemous Tentaculas. "Fertilize those. No gloves. Clear?"

He twitched for a moment, at the sight of that, but quickly calmed hismelf down by reminding himself that he deserved it for not helping witht he project, plus, the plants didn't deserve to not get their fertilizer, they did nothing after all! "I'll get right on it, Sir!" He got work, just trying to convince himself it was chocolate cake doe, with too much salt added in.

Smirking at the expression on Kentaro's face, Crowley drawled, "And try not to get your hands bitten off, would you? You do know how to deal with the Tentaculas, right?"

Stops for a moment. "Hands bitten off? What do you mean handling Tentaculas?" It is then, henotices what plant has been right near his hands for this long while, and imeddiately he backs off from it. "Er, I guess you can tell I don't, sir." he laughed cautiously at himself as he said this, rather shocked he hadn't lost a limb yet.

Crowley tossed Kentaro a book with the page on Tentaculas marked.

"I'd read that first..."

((You don't have to read the whole thing. Just the opening post and the interaction between Adam and Kaylee should tell you what you need to know. Don't read the 200 Nny/Teatime posts. XD))

"Thanks!" After opening the book,Kentaro goes directly to Tentaculas, does not pass Mandragora, and does not collect 200 predatory pansies. And reads as fast as he can, not wanting to waste even more time making Gryffindor look really bad. "So I need a Flitterbloom, a plant with four leaves..." he surveys the greenhouse as fast as he can without risking dmaaging the plants, and eventually find what he thinks to be a Flitterbloom next to a Turkish Little Rude plant. He races back to the Tentaculas.

((Thanks for the hint of where to look ^_^ *probably shouldn't be finding the detention more interesting than the project* - And sorry for double post, ti jumped to bottom of the page D:))

Out of the corner of his eye, he watched Kentaro read the book and go in search of the Flitterbloom. The kid was hyper, running all over the place frantically.

"Slow down there, cowboy. You really don't want to make a mistake with those things."

((No prob. I'm glad you're enjoying it! I'm trying my best to keep the classes fun and easy.))

"O-okay, sir, I just didn't want to waste anymore time. This is a Flitterbloom and not something else, correct?" he said, slowing down, though still at a walking pace.

"No rush," said Crowley. "I'm not going anywhere for a while. There are benefits to not needing to sleep."

He glanced at the plant the young man was carrying. "If it weren't you'd probably be dead already..."

"I would?" It didn't dawn on him until a few seconds later that he meant a Devil's Snare would have killed him, as he was originally just saying 'Is this the 4 leaved plant I need?'. Never the less, he assumes this means he was right, so he places it infront of the Venomous Tentacula, waiting for it to freeze in place, and then begins to rapidly move as much dung as he could carry without spilling, over to the plants, and fertilizing, as fast as possible before the plant discovered the FLitterboom had four leaves.

Crowley watched Kentaro carefully while trying not to look like he was paying attention. He didn't need the boy losing any limbs while under his care, but he didn't want to look like he cared either. After a moment he called out, "I'd step back about now, Mr. Higashikunimaru..."
