"I got your owl." Door smiled hesitantly. "You mentioned a catalog...?"

Stephen smiled as he returned to his chair. "It is the great beastly thing that Miss Sto Helit is reading through. I have seen medical texts less thick."

"That is thick." Door blinked. "I didn't realize there were so many different ways to smell."

"Hello," Susan said. "Here it is, if you like, and there's another one as well. I don't think I can wrap my head around it all just now, to be honest." She handed the main catalogue to Door and turned her attention to the Twilight Alchemy listing. Her initial reaction was one of skepticism, but she knew quite well what belief in a thing could do, and decided simply that it was probably just as well that these things had not made it to the Disc. The reaction of the wizards, for one thing, would be something else altogether.

"Oh, thank you!" Door took the thick catalogue and started flipping through it. Some of the scent names were downright offputting... would someone really want a scent called Sloth or Black Hellebore? One description in particular caught her eye...

"Dr. Maturin? Did I read the labels on those little vials correctly? I'd like to smell Alice."

"I confess I have not paid much mind to their names, Lady Door. You may do whatever you like with them, you and Miss Sto Helit. And, if she ever joins us, Miss Ivanova." Inara's arrival registered with him; he had been deep in thought and reading when she made her entrance. "And, of course, Miss Inara, whom I remember from her Sorting. It is a pleasure to see you again."
