Draco smiled because he was free of the gift exchange. "No one knows me well enough to forge my name now." He was smug. He also stated the obvious. "You're floating." Then he remembered and stood. Lezard was to be held in esteem.

Without waiting for approval, he called the gift to his hands, using his own magic of summoning rather than any Accio or derivative native to Hogwarts.
"Shall you unwrap it?" His eyes were bright.

Severus smiled. A present? For him? "I would love to unwrap it. I would be honoured." With someone else, such an honest response would have been out of place. He knew Lezard would apreciate it. "I have one for you as well, Lezard." He put it on the table, a small package and a larger box.

Snape's gift was clearly born of conversations they'd had about holiday traditions, and families (or lack thereof), and loneliness; and just as clearly, it took its cue from the bits of chocolate Snape had a tendency to bestow upon a distraught Lezard, when he came to bemoan various Hogwarts-inflicted slights. It was, in short, a thoughtful gift. What did you get for the mage who could summon up anything for himself? A thought; a warm gesture; an intention.
