Honestly, Ryuk had almost forgotten that Mikami was here, but now, seeing him like this...seeing him with no lifespan was just hilarious.

"...you. You - shut up!" Teru curled up tighter on the floor, hands over his eyes. Beneath the popcorn case, Masuyo hissed.

[ringo_raver]

"No way. This is too hilarious." Ryuk lounged in midair. "So how'd you do it?"

[righteous_pen]

"I -" He frowned, looking up. "Don't you know?"

[ringo_raver]

"Yeah, I just want to hear you say it." Ryuk pulled out his apple.

[righteous_pen]

Teru glared through limp hair. "Strangled myself. With a sheet. It's all I had."

[ringo_raver]

"Hehehe. They didn't do a good job with their suicide watch, then, did they? Not that it would have mattered, you'd have died anyway."

"You're the one who ate half my life," he muttered, curling up again. He'd handed it over, of course. That was the worst thing.

"Would it have really mattered? You'd have died a few months later if you hadn't. Bet you almost wish Near had written your name. At least then you have someone to blame. But nope, the only one you can blame is yourself."

"No, no!" He struck the floor beside him, which might have been a more impressive show of emotion if his hand hadn't splashed in the butter. "I wasn't his doll to play with. That was the point. Someone had to bring justice to me and I was the only one who could."

"Your own perverted sense of justice, maybe. I wonder how you would have died otherwise? Gangrape? Accident? It would have been completely hilarious if it HAD been a heartattack."

Teru drew in a sharp hiss of breath. "That's the first thing you thought of and I'm perverted?" (Not that he'd never thought it, no one would ever know what happened to him, would they, no one who knew would ever care... stop it, stop panicking. They can't reach me any more, I'm gone.)

For a second, he just - stared, in utter, incredulous horror. And then he was on his feet, too blindly furious to realise that the fist aiming for Ryuk's face shouldn't be able to connect.

But then, this was Hogwarts.

Ryuk sprawled and fell to the floor.

"MY APPLE!" he cried as his apple went splat on the floor.

To an outside observer, perhaps, if there'd been anyone to see. But there was only Teru, eyes blazing with rage from behind limp hair, towering over Ryuk like a vengeful ghost. "Get out of here," he snarled. "Now."
