Hi, Ari! It's nice to see that you're getting to know Hogwarts.
I'm afraid I can't answer many of your questions, since I haven't been here much longer than you. But I can answer some of them.
My house is Ravenclaw, and I'm quite fond of it. My favourite thing is the lab, but I'm not sure why there's a pub there.
I really like Hogwarts so far. My favourite thing is the library, and my least is the low number of classes.
I think the Hat's singing is the funniest. I haven't seen it do anything too bad, but I have heard some very vague rumours.
Sorry if I can't really comment on attractiveness. I certainly don't know everyone, and I'm not quite sure what exactly humans go for the most anyways.
I like cheese just fine, but not particularly. I'm not quite sure why it's a question on the application.
I hope this helps! And I've got more than enough time to let you borrow some.

Hello, Susan. I didn't choose too arcane a username, so I'm not surprised that you've figured out who's posting as sequela. Can you tell what I'm trying to do?
Thanks for answering my questions. The answers I'm getting are interesting on a number of levels, the factual being only the most basic and accessible of those.
How are you doing? I enjoyed our conversation in the big room where I started. Does that room have a name?

Well, it looks like a survey of some kind. Most of them are general quality-of-life type of questions, though I'm not sure why you're asking about people's appearance, unless you're looking for a date, too. I'd think that the Hat put you up to it, but it would know about the things it's done. Did the Headmistress ask you?
The answers really do say a lot about all the different students. They certainly make for interesting reading as well! Hogwarts must have a great variety of people here indeed.
So far I'm having a very good time. Mostly I've been studying on my own. If you'd like, we could get together and do a little research.

PS - The room you were in is called the Sorting Room. I started out in there, too.

Yes, a survey would be a nice thing to call it. Let's call it that. I'm learning a lot. Haven't met the Headmistress -- have you?
I don't think I'd know what to do with a date if I got one, honestly. My predecessor never had luck with other CITs and she warned me pretty well off them. It's funny, you're not the first person to think I might be looking for a date. Grima Wormtongue asked me if I wanted to be betrothed, and told me about a man named Beowulf who is famous (it seems) for eating a lot of ham.
What are you researching? I'd love to have a study group. I never had that at home.

Not yet, but I've heard a bit about her. So you're just polling people for fun?
Well, there usually aren't too many other reasons to fuss about looks, though even that isn't much of one in my opinion. They change too much. But just because your predecessor didn't have very good luck doesn't mean you won't. You're different people, after all. That Hat recommended a Dieter Prohl to me; he's in Ravenclaw, I think, so he must be clever.
I didn't that much, either. I'm not really researching much in particular - mostly reading histories, but a lot of humans find it's dull. I don't know much about any of the subjects, so it's all worth studying in my opinion. Have you got a topic in mind?

Can you tell me more about Dieter Prohl?
I saw a flier that said there are free wands in a box outside the Ancient Runes office. I'm not sure whether to trust something that's been left out for free. Otherwise I'd have started studying Transfiguration and Charms already. I've been reading History of Magic mainly.

All I know is that he apparently likes to hang out in the sauna. I've never actually been in there.
I'll have to pick one up. I'm not sure how well they'll work, either, but I haven't got much money, so I'm stuck with free I'm afraid. I've been doing Potions a bit, too - it doesn't take a wand, but I have too many strong memories of chemistry lessons to risk doing any of them on my own.

It looks as though I've gotten an invitation from a Ravenclaw sauna habitué. Maybe the famed Dieter? He claims to be the only man of his kind who frequents the sauna. I'll report back. He's bound to be an interesting conversationalist - his user name alludes to one of the founding fathers of psychology.
We - you and I, I mean, not possible-Dieter and I - ought to meet, definitely, to study and compare notes on the standard magical curricula. Let me know whether the free wands are any good, if you find out before I get a chance? I'm having an odd time of it just getting settled. Sparklypoo has a large purple animal in it.
Cheers, Ari
(( ooc note from mun: sorry I hadn't answered before, I've been on a short trip and leeching hotel wireless to post here and there like the addict I am. *grins* Ari is worried about security issues with regard to the Hogwarts wands, but she's too polite to suggest that Susan act as a guinea pig. ((Not a problem! Susan will happily play guinea pig of her own accord; not having a wand is dull, and the Master suggested she should meet Mr. Wednesday anyways. I like the idea of doing an open rp for everyone who wants to meet and study, or just hang out if they'd rather.))
Arkytior@hogwarts.IntraNet.net to sequela@hogwarts.IntraNet.net - private messageYou'll have to let me know what potentially-Dieter is like! He does sound clever, if he knows his psychologists. I can let you in if you need someone to - I don't mind, and you seem to be smart enough for Ravenclaw anyway
