Blessed Scribe Virgin, what the hell was that?

V stared for a moment, and then pulled out a hand rolled used his psychokinesis to light it. He took a long drag before even daring to attempt a reply. "I have no fucking idea who you're talking about," he said bluntly, giving him an apologetic smile that didn't quite look right on his face.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I though maybe you had been in the war too. Oh well. We're both here now, so welcome!"

He still didn't know who this 'he' was. But, as confusing as the guy was, he was willing to let it slide. Soldiers and all. "Thanks," he said, taking solace in his Turkish tobacco.

"Mind telling me where here is though?"

"Oh, here's Hogwarts. It's a school for learning magic! Oh, and the year is 2010, so this might not be your home time, either."

School of learning magic. Yeah, it sounded like the kind of shit his mother would come up with. "2010," he repeated, looking off into the distance. "I can deal with that. S'not all that far from my time."

"Oh, really? Lucky! It was still the 1910's for me before I came here. I have to get used to a lot of things!"

His eyebrows rose and he waved a hand about in a general kind of way. "So people come from any time?"

He'd had to get used to a lot of things too, but he loved technology. And sport. Sport had gotten better.

"Oh, yes. All sorts of times and places. There are things like talking dogs, and vampires, and demons, and dragons too! I don't like the dragons much. They spout fire."

...Right.

No mention of a lesser in there, so that, at least, was good.

He stroked his goatee. "Are vampires all that common here?" he asked, running his tongue over the tip of his fangs thoughtfully. He'd have to do something about feeding.

"No, I don't think so, the only one I know of is Jasper. Well, and myself, now."

He studied his hand rolled, took a last drag and pulled the driving glove off his left hand just enough to vaporise the remains of the cigarette. He pulled the glove back on properly. "And now me."

"Oh! I didn't realize, you look different from Jasper and I do. I wonder, are you more like how that Stoker chap wrote about vampires?"

"Stoker's an ass." V glared, ice-white eyes narrowing a little. "Can't go out in sunlight, but I gotta say I love my garlic."

"Oh, you can't? Poor you. I can, I just sparkle a lot."

Vishous' eyebrows slammed down. "...Sparkle?"

And since when could vampires go out in sunlight? He'd been through the Chronicles twice, which recorded all 20,000 years of vampires' existence, and he'd seen nothing about sparkling.
