Shito stared at the girl. "They're illusions that people claim to believe will make their existences less trivial."

"No they aren't, they're emotions that give lives meaning."

"Interactions give meaning to life. The lives you touch, how you touch them, that you want to live, that is what gives your life meaning." It didn't matter that emotions were a part of that.

"And emotions are one part of that. Tapping into emotions is how you touch people's lives. Otherwise, how can you really say you touched them?"

Shito blinked at her. "Tapping into emotions is how one person dominates another," he said flatly.

Now Fuuka was getting a little irate. "It's only domination if the other person lets it."

"Yes," Shito said, his voice still flat.

"A few months ago?" Shito echoed. A few months ago, he had been chasing zombies with Akatsuki for a few months. There was the thing with the A-Loan, but that was more recent and wouldn't bring about the end of the world.
