This one's only just recently been sorted and already he's stabbed someone. Also, apparently he is dangerous because he gets pleasure from pain, and was already immortal before coming here.

Come on, there's a no-kill spell here. It renders everyone immortal so it's not like it's fatal.

Whoever got stabbed should get better at self-defense and avoid the students carrying pointy things.

That's a very modern idea. Perhaps he's from a time when that wasn't the case.

Judging by the rest of these comments I'm sure culture clash wasn't the problem. Not that that would excuse anything.

It's not a matter of culture, nor is it a matter of excusing any sort of behavior. Frankly, I don't give a damn about either.

The point is, this school isn't exactly a model of law and order. Learn how to defend yourself. The Hat pulls in all manner of lunatic and you can't exactly complain to him to set things right.

I'm sure a noble-minded Gryffindor would offer self-defense classes if asked.

I'm quite capable of defending myself, and I'll agree that knowing how to is necessary, in a place like this. That doesn't mean that anyone who doesn't should be held responsible if someone attacks them.

Every person should be responsible for their own safety, especially in a place like this. If you're attacked, fight back. If you don't know how to fight back then learn.
That way it doesn't happen again.

By 'not responsible' I meant that the victim of a crime is not to blame for it. WHich is what your first comment implied.

I implied that the attacked party should learn how to defend themselves to keep it from happening again. If they choose not to.. then that is their decision and they will have to live with the consequences.

Go to the medical wing and consider it a lesson learned.
Live, grow stronger and fight another day. There isn't a police force to address your grievances to, so I suggest you find someone to teach you how to defend yourself.
