There were times that Yukimura truly detested this place. The lack of his Juuyuushii save one, the closeness of the quarters, those he cared enough about and for that he would make promises that bound his own actions and the inability to most effectively deal with threats to those he cared for all added up so that, on some days, the rewards did not seem worth the sacrifices. Frustration welled up in him, kept carefully beneath a pleasant mask and laughing voice. He didn't speak of it to Kuronue, knowing that, at times, his demon lover had the same frustrations. While he truly enjoyed their mutual diversions, there were times he had to think about what aggravated him.
He could justify breaking his word. It would be simple to do, yet he had pleaded with Inari for the opportunity to fight Kurama for the same offense. He also didn't want to break trust with Kuronue. His lover had enough problems truly trusting him as it was, fears of abandonment still plaguing his sleep.
He wandered the halls, slowly working his way outside, when he saw the peddler sitting in the Great Hall. He went in, requesting tea as he did, and bowed. "May I join you?" he asked from across the table.
Kusuriyuri bowed in return. "Please. It has been a while since we have spoken," he said politely as Yukimura sat.
"Indeed. There wasn't much time last time we saw each other. Thank you for Kaga-san," he added, bowing again as he knelt on the bench. He preferred kneeling to sitting. It was faster if he needed to get up, less likely that he'd tangle his legs as he tried to get over the bench.
"It is what is done," Kusuriyuri murmured. "He is recovering?" he asked.
Yukimura nodded, accepting the tea from the house elf. "Yes. I have asked him to study magic with Mello and Kuronue offered to teach him to use a tanto."
Kusuriyuri nodded. "It will help, this one thinks, if Kaga-san does not feel so weak. A speaks well of Mello, though he is difficult. Kurama speaks well of him."
Yukimura laughed. "He has beaten Kuronue with his tricks. I think, if Kaga can bear him, he will be of use." He sobered slightly, taking a sip of tea. "And, you are well?" he asked. "And Kurama?"
"Kurama is recovered, as is this one, thanks to you." Kusuriyuri lifted his cup of tea. "Kuronue is well?"
"He seems to have recovered, yes. His hair will grow back, and his wings seem whole now. Thank you." Yukimura set his cup down, his fingers trailing along the sides.
"Something bothers you?" Kusuriyuri asked. He raised a hand, waving the question away. "This one didn't mean to intrude."
Yukimura tilted his head slightly. "It isn't an intrusion. I have yet to see this Apos creature," he said. A predatory smile curved his lips a second before it changed into a flirtatious grin. "I am curious what one who is male and female is like."
Kusuriyuri raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?"
Yukimura just smiled in response. "Kuronue wishes to meet with Kurama. Will you ask him to let us know when a good time is?" he asked, changing the topic slightly.
"Very well," Kusuriyuri said, his tone conveying that he still didn't believe the prior statement. "Soon. Kurama does not wish to wait long, this one would think."
"Thank you," Yukimura said, bowing as he stood again. "Until we meet again." He headed to the door, leaving his barely touched tea on the table behind him.
Yukimura walked directly out to the grounds from the Great Hall. The walls of the castle were too confining now. He needed to be outside. He needed to move. Preferably, he needed to fight something to work off this damned frustration.
OOC: Take your pick, the peddler or the samurai. And, "thanks to you" is "okage desu" which translates roughly to "because of your shadow (which is help/doing)"...it's almost equivalent to 'thanks for asking' but not quite...a bit difficult to explain and blame it on the culture.
