Toki was taking the Shoggies to the Great Hall for lunch when he noticed Yoda and his table full of felt and other fun things. "Wow-wee!" he exclaimed, "It's crafts time!" He smiled hugely as he took the Shoggies over to the table, and lined them up on the bench before sitting down across from Yoda and admiring his stuffed bantha. "That's so cool! How'd you make that?" he asked the little green man-like thing- there were enough weird things at Hogwarts that Yoda wasn't especially weird. In fact, Toki thought that he was a green house-elf. "Can we makes crafts with you too? I love makings crafts!"

The Shoggies also thought that the stuffed bantha was pretty awesome, evidenced by their many-eyed stares at it, and announcement of "sooo cool!".

"Love for you to make crafts, I would," Yoda said, delighted. "All of you." He nodded at the Shoggies, pleased by their enthusiasm. "With felt and fur, I worked. And thread. Hard work sewing can be, but focus the mind it can. And very cute, my bantha is. Here." He pushed a large stack of equipment over at Toki and the Shoggies. "See what you would make, I would."

Toki beamed happily at Yoda, and looked over the various materials. A piece of fake fur caught his eye, that was about the exact right colour for one of the yard wolves back home. "I'm going to makes the yard wolf!" he announced, and pondered the scrap of material, contemplating how to get the right shape for a yard wolf out of it. He decided that sticking the fake fur to a felt yard wolf would probably be easiest ( ... )

"Good!" Yoda wondered briefly how exactly a yard wolf differed from other kinds. Perhaps they were smaller, like gophers.

"A bantha this is," he said, holding it out to the Shoggies for inspection. "More like a cow than a bear it is. Unless give milk, bears do, on this planet." He laughed. Bears tended to be rather grumpy on all worlds, and the only people he knew who would even try to milk one were on the foolishly brash side.

"Yoda am I." He inclined his head to them all. "A house-elf, I am not. A Jedi Master I am, though retired some may call me." He chuckled again. "Impossible it is for a Jedi to retire, yes. But a pleasant diversion, Hogwarts is."

The only difference between a yard wolf and a regular wolf was the fact that yard wolves had lived in the yard at Mordhaus- Toki hoped that they'd managed to survive the fire, and would eventually come back, as it was always fun to watch them dealing with trespassers ( ... )

"Edible they can be, yes." Yoda's tastes did not run toward banthas and cows. Yoda's tastes in food were somewhat... unique. Barely identifiable as food much of the time, even. "Milk, hair, and labor do they also give. A very useful creature is the bantha."

He smiled at Toki, giggling a little. "A common mistake, it seems to be. Feel bad, you should not. Besides, so bad is it to be mistaken for a house elf? Perhaps intern with them for a week I should." He trailed off, contemplating, and then snapped back as if only then remembering that Toki had asked him a question. "A noble thing it is, to be a Jedi. Guardians of peace for a thousand generations we were. Protect life, we did. To be a Jedi Master is to devote oneself to that life, and to the teaching of others. Nearly extinct the Order may have become, and dead I may be, but a Jedi Master am I all the same, yes." He leaned over, watching their progress. "An extra hand, would you like? Keeping yours full, your adopted children seem to be!"

"I wish we coulds eats a bantha! They sounds sooo cool!" Shoggy 10 exclaimed, taking a piece of felt that Toki handed it in a pseudopod. "But you dont's eats your toy banthas," Toki told them. "Them's for beings friends!" Plush friends were good to have. Toki's deddy bear had been a quiet support through many ordeals ( ... )

"Try to help, we do. Did." He stopped, reconsidered, and nodded to himself. "Do. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes... well, go according to plan, things do not always do. And good results, good intentions do not always give." His ears drooped, but only for a moment.

He picked up a pair of scissors and began cutting out the shapes. His old fingers did not work as fast as they used to, but it was still more efficient than allowing the Shoggies to try. As well as very probably safer for all involved.

Although often tending toward childish and self-centered behavior, Toki was a friendly guy- when he was in the mood to be. Sometimes, he liked to be belligerent just for the sake of it. But, at the moment, he was in one of his friendly moods, and, noticed that Yoda sounded a little upset. "Tryings what's counts, you cant's always do everythings right alls the time. It's like recordings, never goes right ons the first take. Unless it's Skwisgaar doings it, but he's Skwisgaar." Toki didn't resent this- he was a great deal less contentious with Skwisgaar now that they were screwing, and had admitted their real feelings for each other. He was in fact making the yard wolf toy to give to him ( ... )

((Sorry for the wait!))

"Do or do not," Yoda said softly, but he smiled all the same. Things had turned out all right in the end, more or less. Even he could be surprised, after nearly a millenia of life.

He watched Toki and the Shoggies work with amusement as he cut the fabric. There had been relatively few Force-sensitive species with pseudopods instead of some form of limb, and it was always interesting to watch them manuver. The Shoggies were no different, really, except they were more entertaining than most of the other more gelatinous species that he could remember. "Glue could you also use," he said, considering, "Though while easier it is to use, less secure would it make the seams."

((No worries! I'm never in a rush with RPs.))"We likes to do! We're good ats it!" Shoggy 18 enthusiastically exclaimed to Yoda- the Shoggies were quite an industrious race, when they got to focusing upon something. They were remarkably good with their pseudopods, and their ability to drool acid was actually of use when working with the stone they used to. Soft, squishy fabric was definitely different, and although they understood how to obtain the shapes they needed, sewing wasn't really for pseudopods. They all watched Toki carefully as he stitched a seam along his yard wolf's body, and tried to explain to them what to do. Shoggy 10 tried its best to emulate threading the needle, but, simply couldn't get its pseudopod to properly hold anything so small ( ... )
