"I think that's why a few of my teammates know Dia spells. So they're never caught up short when they need to be healed. And then Minato can switch Personas at will, so he helps out too. Even I can sometimes heal, a little bit. I can't fully control that, though." Stupid Juno, reducing us to one HP/one SP. Jerk.

"...is that from a JRPG or something? I pretty much just stick to MMOs. I never got the hang of a lot of the control schemes in other games. Oh, and FPS games make me kind of nauseous." She shuddered, remembering the one time she had tried to play Halo with Stupid Tall Hot Girl Riley. Ugh. Major vertigo.

"JRPG?" Fuuka asked. "No, I mean for real. I'm part of a group of people that fight creatures known as Shadows."

"Oh. Um. I fight orcs. And trolls. And sometimes the occasional fish person." She smiled awkwardly. "Nice to meet you. I'm Codex. And you have really pretty hair."

"Thank you," Fuuka said with a smile. "I'm Fuuka. I just got here myself."

"Fuuka. Wow. That's a, um, weird name. I mean--! It's weird for where I'm from. I'm not implying that you're weird or anything. Oh god. Way to go, self. Is it common where you're from?"

"Well, yes, but I think I'm in a different country altogether. It's a Japanese name."

"Oh wow, Japan. I have friend that's Japanese! I think. She's Asian, I mean. It's kind of hard to tell what nationality someone really is when they won't give you their real name. But she's awesome. Did you... how did you get here?" She tried to strike a casual pose, and didn't succeed. Casual and Codex never quite jived.

Fuuka looked perturbed. "I don't know. The last thing I remember was all of us trying to stop Nyx. And then I showed up here. Oh, here is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, by the way."

"So you just kind of showed up here, too?" This was good. This was a point in favor of Codex not being completely insane. She plunged ahead before she could second guess. "Hogwarts? It's kind of a stupid name, isn't it?"

"Oh, I don't know," Fuuka said with a smile. "I think it's a little charming. I was more surprised to find out that there's a whole school devoted to magic. Where I went to school, we were only just learning the history of magic."

"Oh." It was on the charming side, if you stretched the definition a little, she supposed. Personally, Codex thought it sounded kind of gross and unsanitary, but she was making headway talking to this girl. "I think--the only magic I know is in a game. So. Yeah. I think this is a little different from 'map your hotkeys and strafe a lot'."

"Yes, I suppose it does sound a bit odd. Though..." Fuuka thought a bit. "What my friends' and my Personas use is something like magic. Though mine's more for looking for weaknesses and strengths than attacks or healing."

"That's... that sounds useful." And a lot cooler than Codex's superpowers of absolutely nothing. "So... what's this 'persona' thing, exactly? Or at least, in layman's terms so I don't just kind of stand here looking confused."

"Well, Mitsuru-sempai explained it as a bit like baring your soul. Personas are creatures that can be summoned to fight.

Before Codex could blink, Fuuka pulled out her Evoker and shot herself, summoning Juno.

"This is mine," Fuuka said from inside Juno. "Her name's Juno."

Nothing after Fuuka talking was a good thing. She screamed when Fuuka shot herself--or seemed to--and upon seeing the giant freaky lady with Fuuka inside, Codex fainted dead away.
