Because the mun is lazy, Ginko has been a child for a while now. Not that he remembers that he is supposed to be bigger, or that he went by the name Ginko.

When Yoki saw the house elves give special attention to this elderly man he was curious enough to approach. Nui wasn't around, the boy made sure to check every place he could find in the castle for her, so now he wants to know about the people that are here.

"What are they doing?" Yoki asks Soichiro, looking between him and the house elves.

"They think it funny to celebrate my birthday," Soichiro said, glowering at them through his coffee. "It's not that big a deal."

"Do you think someone asked them to throw you a party?" Yoki doesn't think this looks much like a birthday party. Don't adults invite their friends and drink throughout the night? But he lets it go because he can already see that this place isn't much like what he has seen before.

"I don't know. I certainly didn't. I'm getting too old for parties." Soichiro scooped some frosting on his finger and tasted it. "Tastes good, though."

Matsuda had spent a week picking out the right gift for Soichiro's birthday. There weren't a lot of things he thought were appropriate to give to his former boss, and a birthday gift was a rather... personal thing. But, there had to be something, and once he found the something, he snatched it up without a thought.

Now, he had the something wrapped, held protectively in one hand while he led Fizgig leashed on another, looking for Soichiro.

Still glowering at the house elves over the now partially eaten cake, Soichiro saw Fizgig first. Smiling at her, he then looked up to Matsuda.

"Hello, Matsuda."

Matsu grinned, though a bit nervously. He thrust the wrapped package towards Soichiro with little preamble. "Happy Birthday!"

Soichiro smiled. "Matsuda, you didn't have to get me anything! Thank you though."

As he took the present, he waved his hand toward the cake.

"The house elves had the same idea. You're welcome to some."
