The Green ((Greenhouse open RP))

Jan 22, 2009 13:54

The greenhouses, though warded now against the various ravages of time and winter, were still in ned of hefty repairs. Greenhouse six, for instance, had become inhabited by a colony of pixies from the Forbidden Forest who decided that said forest was not the place to be in the dead of winter. Kurama would have been perfectly content to let them ( Read more... )

Kusuriyuri had seen the note and was curious to see if wards could be constructed against pixies as he hadn't tried to ward any magical creatures yet. He made his way carefully into the greenhouse, making sure the door was closed behind him. The din was almost enough to make him wish he could ward his own ears.

Kurama had cast a deafness charm over himself and Belophoebe, who was pouncing at pixies from the tabletops, and didn't immediately see Kusuriyuri (he'd been concentrating so hard on the infestation that he'd hardly even felt Kusuriyuri's presence) until a Pixie had grabbed the back of his hair and yanked his head around to see the door. A good whack with a vine took care of that one, and Belophoebe dragged it off to the little cage where the few stunned and unconcious pixies were being kept.

He grinned at Kusuriyuri, waving a hello in lieu of actually speaking.

Kusuriyuri bowed slightly to Kurama, amused. "A new passtime?" he asked, glaring at a pixie that approached him. It seemed unphased by the look, though. He summoned a simple ward, like the one he'd used to imobilize Kurama with and, while it kept the creature back, it seemed more to do so because it was bigger than the pixie. "An interesting puzzle," he said.

He stunned another two pixies before uncharming himself. He then went over to Kusuriyuri, placing a kiss on his cheek. A few of the more vocal pixies shrieked in amusement. "I didn't hear you, I'm sorry."

Kusuriyuri reached out to touch Kurama's hand. "How are these creatures contained?" he asked. "Wards, or the ones I have, do not work." The one he'd throw the ward at had worked it self free and was presently screeching at him.

"Stunning or immobilizing charms," he demonstrated, and the pixie Kusuriyuri had caught dropped to the floor like a stiff doll. "Cages will keep them, and once I've got 'em all wrangled up I'll ship them off to the Care of Magical Creatures professor."

"Violent things," Kusuriyuri commented as two attacked Belophoebe. His wand slipped out of his sleeve with the same ease as his wards and he stunned them. The leopard cat seemed altogether too pleased to drag them off into the cage.

"Yes, when it suits them to be, which is often." He glared at a clutch of the pixies, who had quieted down and situated themselves in the rafters. He narrowed his eyes and bade a clutch of vines creep up on them, ready to grab if they made any sudden moves. Belophoebe returned from her stashing and purred at them, twining between their legs.

"I know there's a bunch more of them, but they're tricky. Anyway," he shook himself and grinned. "Thank you for the help."

Kusuriyuri bowed slightly as he stepped over to one of the cages, petting Belophoebe as he knelt to look closer at the pixies. They all made shows of teeth and claws, which did nothing to impress him. He held out a hand, just beyond the reach of the spindly arms that tried to swipe at him, seeing if he could discern what he needed to do to write a ward. "Strange creatures," he murmured, frowning slightly as he tried to sort out the impressions he was getting.

"If I recall correctly, they're classified as animals rather than any kind of spirit." Kurama said, kneeling down next to him. He smiled when he noticed Kusuriyuri's collar was conspicuously free of kitten. "Has the little prince taken leave today?"

"It seemed he found the noise unacceptable," Kusuriyuri replied equitably. He let his hand fall to his lap. "I can feel nothing that I could ward against." He regarded the pixies a moment longer before turning to face Kurama. "It seems that that kind of pride is drawn to this one," he said solemnly.

Kurama inclined his head. "Well, only the best will do," he said, trying to mimic Kusuriyuri's solemn tone. He would have said more, but Belophoebe's head shot up suddenly, and she sprinted across the greenhouse to one of the connector doors, pawing at it. Kurama glanced over, and then laughed. A tiny kitten face was pressed against the glass door, and though he could not hear it, he could see it was meowing plaintively.

Kusuriyuri looked over. "It seems I am found," he said, his voice rippling with amusement. He reached over and brushed his fingers against Kurama's cheek before rising to open the door for the kitten, who came in and immediately demanded to be picked up. Belophoebe had other ideas and tackled Boukensha, cleaning him vigorously while Kusuriyuri closed the door quickly to keep the pixies contained.

Kurama shook his head, clucking his tongue. "Where did he learn such manners?" He asked, before making an innocent face and pointing to himself.

Kusuriyuri nodded solemnly. "That may be so," he said in a tone that indicated both complete agreement with the statment and amusement at it. "This one seems to attract such," he said, his tone fond.

"You're a magnet," Kurama grinned, teasing. "Or maybe, a center star? Not to put you on a pedestal or anything."
