Kusuriyuri watched Matt for a moment. He could see the vague confusion on the boy's face. "Please come in. Leave your shoes at the door." He went in to his office ahead of the boy and began making tea, genmaicha with mint. He knelt by his low table and set out tea cups while the tea steeped.

Matt pulled off his shoes and followed Kusuriyuri into the office. "I.." he sat down. "I don't remember you."

Kusuriyuri poured the tea before he said anything. "What do you remember?" he asked. "I have heard that you recall some things but not all." Mello had told Kurama and himself as much, though he had the impression that Mello hadn't taken the time to assess just how much Matt remembered.

"I remember Near and Mello. I remember L, though not that we were in a relationship. I said I wanted to see if we still had one. I remember learning runes and wards." He took the tea and sipped it, making a slight face.
