Severus has taken to coming by the Sorting Room with some regularity, making it a feature of his hallway patrols.

When he hears the answers to the questions, he vaguely suspects someone is making fun of his recent class. But he doesn't recognise the name. Or body. She has no clothes, and this is apparently perfectly acceptable in which ever strange world from which she has come. He averts his eyes nevertheless. They are drawn back.

His voice has a small note of defensiveness. "I am Professor Snape, Head of the Hospital Wing. I hope you are well-educated in matters of sexual education. You missed our recent class, but as you seem unashamed, uninhibited and unclothed, it is my duty to inform you we have all manner of potions, spells and muggle artefacts for contraception, lubrication and other... needs. We do not intend to have any wandering children, any spread of disease, or any... unfortunate mishaps."

Amaranth smiled cheerfully at this man, too. "Thank you for the heads up," she said. "Believe me, I have no interest in having children of my own right now. And nymphs don't get those sorts of human diseases, but if I ever get concerned, I will definitely stop by and pick up some potions and Rings of Protection if you've got them."

Rings of protection. Severus is familiar with cock rings. But that is hardly protection. He hesitates to display his lack of knowledge - perhaps Hook will be able to acquire some. "I also have a display of helpful diagrams. And we have spells that can aid you in your pursuits, both for safety and comfort, when you have attained some proficiency at Charms."

His face is serious and straightforward, his mind cleared of emotion. He is practiced at this and it stands him well when dealing with sexual matters. It keeps his hands from shaking.

Amaranth nodded. "That's good. And I'm sure the diagrams will be helpful." She was being polite, because she was pretty sure she knew what she was doing. "I'll be happy to stop by the hospital wing and pick up some of your potions, though, if that's all right."

"Of course." Severus nods. "We have them available for the safety and well-being of all the students."

This is a sorting, however and he must find out more about her. She will be a disruptive distraction to the other students, he is sure. A nymph. It will be like having a Veela in the school. He notes her charms, but there is Daisy, and besides, he has never... What does he like sexually? No, he must not even think that.

She seems interested in learning and study, however, and her answers had been supremely simple and reasonable. Probably Ravenclaw, but he must find out more. "May I ask what was your field in college and why you selected it as the subject of your studies? This is a school for Witchcraft and Wizardry, and if you are an adept tutor many of teh students are backward and often need extra coaching."

"My major is Life Magic," Amaranth answered. "Which is only natural, since I'm an avatar of a fertility goddess. As for tutoring..." She beamed her highest-voltage smile at Snape. "I would love to help where I can in that area."

Ravenclaw.

After his recent foray into the computer lab Severus is wondering if he is in need of tutoring himself in sexual etiquette. It is something that had not been covered in his misspent youth. This young woman is straightforward and logical, simple and unembarrassing.

"I myself, though I am now Head of the Hospital Wing, specialise in Defense against the Dark Arts and Potions. Both have proved very useful in my current position. We do not have a field of Life Magic - perhaps the closest we have are Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures. I recently held classes in Sexual Education, but the focus was safety and comfort, and the magical elements were largely tangential."

"I see." Amaranth was still smiling. "Well, I'd be happy to help with any tutoring in sexual education." She gave him a long, appraising look. "Though, I suppose, if I agree to do this, we should probably meet later and you can evaluate my performance personally." She was definitely straightforward and uncomplicated, and would not take his rejection, if there was one, personally at all. She just figured it was only reasonable.

In the meantime, she really needed to learn more about magical creatures. Maybe there were magical creatures here that they hadn't had back home which would qualify as intelligent. She would have to find out from whoever was in charge of that subject.

Severus is so bent on not making assumptions that he errs on the side of caution. He assumes she means an evaluation of her teaching skills. She is young and he thinks this is probably prudent. He smiles himself. "That sounds very reasonable. After your sorting, we can meet there as your timetable permits. We use owls here to deliver messages, or you may simply visit if I am free. My door is always open for cases of emergency.

"In the Hospital Wing, I have two assistants already: Doctor Hook, a medical doctor trained in Denmark, and another of the students who offers pet therapy to the students, reading to them when they are ill and providing pet therapy. His name is Wishbone.

"I think you would be happiest in Ravenclaw, which is the House of the studious, diligent, and intellectual. Wishbone belongs to this House. I myself am in Slytherin, of which I was Head, when there was such a position. Hook is also in Slytherin." There is an unmistakeable note of pride in his voice as he mentions Slytherin.

"Thank you, Professor," Amaranth said enthusiastically. "I'll definitely stop by the hospital wing to have a more serious talk with you. And I look forward to meeting your assistants at that time." She really should have asked about pet therapy, and what that meant, but she was way too distracted by the notion that one of her professors thought she was smart.

"Thank you, Amaranth. There is great need of tutoring in this area." He still feels an urge to smile. The Veela effect, he is sure. "My assistants come and go at will, so there is no guarantee of their presence, but I am sure they will meet you in good time."
