The end of a long day (Closed RP, Kusuriyuri, Kurama)

After B left his office, Kusuriyuri returned to his room to pick up Boukensha. The ginger manx kitten mewed at him anxiously, paws on Kusuriyuri's chest while he stood on Kusuriyuri's arm instead of climbing to his shoulder. "Saa, are you worried as well, oujisama?" The kitten mewed in response and huddled into Kusuriyuri's chest, looking ( Read more... )

Kurama was as schemer. Someone who loved to plan and be fifty steps ahead of the whole world (seen and unseen) at all times and in all cases. It kept him from going mad with boredom and ending up like other lethargic old immortals who whiled away their endless twilight years with drugs and prostitutes and ultimate repetition. Boukensha, satisfied now, jumped out of Kusuriyuri's arm. "It seems I cannot hide from you," he replied, taking Kurama's hand in his as the kitsune had so often to his. "It is long to speak of," he said, stepping out of his geta and moving closer to Kurama. "This morning, I met Ryuuzaki. He spoke of Matt's...leaving. I told A of it this afternoon. Then, B wished to speak to me of his memories. They distressed him." He watched as Boukensha wandered through the apartment, regally trying to seem as if he were not seeking something, or perhaps Belopheobe. "It has been a long day," he said softly.

Kurama winced. If he hadn't been so caught up in his own little world, he may have been able to help, or at least give Kusuriyuri a fair warning that shit was about to hit the proverbial fan.

"I apologize, I had heard of Matt leaving and distracted myself before telling you," he bowed over Kusuriyuri's hand in apology, before drawing him into the room and finding him a chair. "I know he was your student, I am sorry to hear that he is gone."

"A warning would not have changed the day's duties, shirogitsune," Kusuriyuri murmured, allowing himself to be led. He sat but did not release Kurama's hand. "The day would have been long, regardless." The contact with his lover, his companion, was helping him feel more balanced, though he still felt very drained. "How did shirogitsune hear? How was he distracted?"
